A World Where You All Are The Villains - Chapter 32.1
“U-uhh…! Aaaargh—!”
At the sight, the Crown Prince recoiled, stumbling backward with a tearing scream.
Thud!
Then, tripping over a chair leg, he fell down in a disgraceful heap.
‘God… That’s disgusting!’
Even I shuddered at the severed monster’s head.
If it was this much for an adult like me, it was only natural that a non-Awakener, obviously pampered prince would collapse from the shock inside the Imperial Palace.
‘Damn it, there was never a scene like this!’
I trembled at the sheer insanity of the turn this story had taken.
In the novel, this was supposed to be a romantic moment, where Male Lead #4 dramatically reunites with the female lead, asks her to dance, and gets purified.
Even his flashy entrance via teleportation was part of it.
But there was certainly never a scene where he brought a severed monster’s head and scared the Crown Prince half to death.
It’s supposed to be a ‘romance’ fantasy novel.
‘Something was already off when the female lead wasn’t even at the banquet.’
What was even more maddening was that, besides the Crown Prince and myself, nobody else seemed shocked by Male Lead #4’s outrageous display.
“It’s the first time I’ve seen a monster like that…”
“Caspian Gorge? Isn’t that a Gate Wave region?!”
“With the barrier in place, it should’ve been inaccessible. How did the Grand Duke…”
Maybe because most of them had awakened, the nobles only whispered calmly to each other, unperturbed by the monster’s head.
“There’s no need to be so moved… A couple of small Gates opened, so I had a bit of fun, that’s all.”
Seeing the Crown Prince sprawled on the floor, Male Lead #4 burst into hearty laughter.
Then, he rummaged through the sack again.
“It’s too soon to be surprised, Your Highness. Take a look at this.”
He pulled out something the size of an ostrich egg.
It was a pale gray sphere, sticky fluid oozing out, so soft it looked like it might slip through his fingers at any moment.
“This is a cyclops’ eye. They’re hard to come by, but there were plenty inside the Wave.”
“Uh, uh…”
“I went to the trouble of extracting it alive because the lens is said to help with height, but… it’s already rotted. Tsk.”
Clicking his tongue regretfully, the Grand Duke tossed it carelessly to the floor.
Squelch—!
It hit the ground with a wet sound and splattered apart.
Frankly, I was relieved.
If I’d actually seen what it looked like up close, I might not have been able to sleep tonight.
“And finally…”
“Aaagh! Stop, stop—!”
The Crown Prince shrieked in panic, seeing the Grand Duke rummage through the sack again.
“You there! Why aren’t you cleaning this up right now?!”
“Haha. But it’s just getting to the highlight. I’m hurt, nephew.”
“Leon! Garfield!”
But, for some reason, the attendants standing at his side didn’t move an inch, no matter how much the Crown Prince screamed.
‘…He’s using an ability.’
Seeing them pale and trembling, I immediately realized why.
Male Lead #4, Serge, was pinning them in place with his telekinesis, making it impossible for them to move.
‘What about the magic stones? Weren’t they supposed to light up when they detected ability fluctuations?!’
There was even a purple stone—presumably a magic stone—embedded in the pillar right in front of me, yet it wasn’t glowing.
Maybe the nobles were favorable to the Grand Duke, but for the stone to remain inactive meant…
‘He can control his ability that precisely?’
It meant he was suppressing everyone here with such a fine degree of power that even the stone didn’t register the fluctuation.
It was overwhelming.
“Instead of looking to those uselessly standing beside you, take a look at this, Your Highness.”
Despite the Crown Prince’s pleas, Serge only grinned as he pulled something else out.
“This is the heart of a worm-drake or earth-dragon or whatever…”
Thankfully, this time it wasn’t a grotesque monster corpse.
It looked like a fist-sized, blood-red gemstone.
“Huff, huff…”
The Crown Prince, tense with anxiety, gasped for breath.
Unbothered, Serge tilted his head and muttered,
“Hmm… Now what was this one supposed to be good for?”
“……!”
“Hey, what was this good for again?”
He planted one foot on the back of the middle-aged man still groveling on the floor.
“Ugh! Th-that… You just took it as a keepsake from your first kill…!”
“Ah! So this one was mine.”
“……”
“Doesn’t it look like it would fetch a nice price, Your Highness?”
