FWOOSH—!

At the same time as my shout, green light exploded from the hand gripping his coat.

A refreshing, pine-like scent instantly filled the entire room.

“……!”

Male Lead #4’s eyes flew wide open.

He looked like he wanted to say something, his lips moving slightly.

But only for a moment. Soon, the focus vanished from his eyes.

Oooong……

Wispy black energy, like heat waves, started to stream from his body.

They mingled with the green light radiating from my hand, whirling around him in a vortex.

‘The only thing I can do is purification, huh…’

It was ridiculous.

For the first time, I resented the power I’d been given.

He’d just strangled me with telekinesis, and here I was helping that bastard!

But there was no choice.

This was the only way to get out of this alive.

‘Why is it that after purification, they just peacefully fall asleep? Shouldn’t he be in agony if he was about to die?’

Just as the purification was about to finish, Serge’s eyes gently closed.

His peaceful expression infuriated and sickened me even more.

Maybe it was my anger, or maybe because I’d used my power in this battered state, but my insides churned violently.

“Urgh…”

Doubling over with dry heaves, I glared at the number above his head.

86%

77%

69%

The rampage meter, dropping rapidly, soon reached the 60s.

‘Damn, I did too much.’

Swish—!

Clicking my tongue, I let go of his coat without hesitation.

Sluuump— Thud!

As soon as the green light wrapped tightly around him disappeared, Serge’s body crumpled like a puppet with its strings cut.

Not wanting to be crushed under that massive body, I quickly backed away.

THUD—!

He landed face-first on the marble floor.

“Ugh! That’s gotta hurt… Serves you right.”

Although my own neck was throbbing and swelling with pain, I still felt a bit satisfied.

Just to be sure, I nudged his head with the tip of my shoe.

Then I frowned.

“Tsk, not even a scratch?”

Even after such a hard fall, that shiny face didn’t have a single mark.

‘Damn, those Awakeners’ bodies.’

Awakeners were sturdier than ordinary folk to begin with, but as an S-Class, his skin must be practically indestructible.

I expected as much, but still felt empty.

‘No help for it. I’ll have to do it myself.’

Immediately, I crouched down and untied the cravat around his neck.

Honestly, I wanted to strangle him as much as he’d done to me, but that might wake him, so I held back.

Instead, I took the ruby brooch that had been holding his cravat.

‘This stone’s the real deal. Must be worth quite a bit.’

I muttered curses under my breath, hoping he’d die of frustration over losing it.

Then, using the loosened cravat, I wiped under his nose carelessly.

The pristine white cloth was soon stained with sticky black blood.

It wasn’t as much as with Eston, but it was plenty to serve as evidence of a rampage.

Riiip—!

I tore the dirty cravat in half, the thin, soft fabric splitting easily.

I stuffed one piece in my dress’s inner pocket, and the other into his pants pocket.

“Huff.”

I finally stood up from my crouch.

As I walked over to the dressing table in the corner, the pain in my throat flared again, making me seethe with anger.

“Fucking bastard.”

Rattle—

I dragged the heavy, metal stool over to where Male Lead #4 was sprawled.

Because it was made of steel, it was quite heavy.

Good. Only with this could I actually leave a mark on that iron-like body.

“Ugh…!”

Summoning all my remaining strength, I lifted the chair high above my head.

My arms trembled so badly it was pitiful, and I felt like I might collapse backward any second.

But my thirst for revenge—my excitement—gave me superhuman strength.

Looking down at him, I smiled—broadly, truly broadly.

“…Serge Belnac.”

“……”

“You got knocked out like a loser, ambushed by an unknown assailant.”

But you’ll never be able to catch the culprit.

Because I have proof of your rampage.

“You should’ve just let me go when I asked.”

“……”

“This is all your own doing.”

So if you’re going to blame someone, blame yourself.

Muttering so, I brought the stool down hard on his head.

WHAM—!

A single, clean streak of freshly purified red blood arced through the air.
