“……!”

The man collapsed to the ground without even managing to scream.

It seemed he had deliberately knocked him unconscious so he wouldn’t escape using his ability while he was away.

Frowning deeply at the cruel act, I unconsciously parted my lips.

“But…”

According to the information I got in Volner, the female lead seemed to be cooperating with the Sephirot Church.

Then what possible reason would the Sephirot Church have to kidnap her?

Just as I was wondering whether I should say this to Male Lead #4.

“What are you doing. Go and do your job, Ducal Lady.”

He glared at me.

Clank, clank!

Then he tugged at the chain he had tied, checking to make sure it was secure.

In other words, he was telling me to make sure we could get past the entrance.

‘You damn bastard. If you just used your ability, this would be easy…!’

It was unfair.

I wasn’t even someone with a knockout ability…!

I could feel his determination to make use of me no matter what, and it made my blood boil.

With a miserable expression, I looked past the alley again.

Fortunately, the people who had been lined up seemed to have all gone inside, and only the two bulky guards remained at the entrance.

“Are you planning to go after sunrise?”

“I, I’m going!”

Unable to resist his nagging voice again, I trudged forward.

As I approached the building, the two guards naturally grew wary of me in my black robe.

“You’re not one of our White Order. Who are you?”

“Well… my laundry didn’t dry, so I had to wear a different robe.”

As I offered the flimsy excuse, they looked me over suspiciously.

“Your token.”

“Pardon?”

“Show proof that you’re a believer of our church.”

So that was what they had been checking earlier.

“Yes, just a moment.”

I nodded and rummaged through my pocket.

Then, gripping what was inside tightly, I approached them and opened my other hand.

“Here.”

“Let’s see…”

Hiss, hiss―!

The moment they lowered their heads to check my empty hand, I quickly sprayed the perfume.

“Argh! Something got in my eyes!”

“What the hell are you…!”

Startled by my sudden attack, they flailed in confusion.

But only for a moment.

“Uh, uh…”

Thud! Thud―!

Exactly three seconds later, the bulky men collapsed to the ground with heavy thumps.

I had modified the self-defense perfume Eston made for me during the last trip to Volner.

A sleeping perfume that knocks people out three seconds after spraying!

“Snore! Grumble… Snore!”

“Haa…!”

Hearing the steady sound of snoring, I finally released the breath I had been holding.

Then I put the perfume bottle back into my pocket.

It was a relief that the effect was reliable.

If it hadn’t worked, or if it had taken even a few minutes longer, it could have been a disaster.

‘Why am I doing something like this in the middle of the night…’

I was rubbing my face dry, overwhelmed by the sudden reality check, when.

Clap, clap, clap.

“Not bad.”

Suddenly, the sound of applause rang out.

He had approached at some point and was standing behind me with a satisfied smile.

‘No way, he didn’t see me spray the perfume, did he?’

A cold sweat ran down my back.

I kept glancing at him nervously.

“As expected, I thought you’d be quite useful, Ducal Lady.”

Judging by his mocking tone, fortunately, it didn’t seem like he had seen it.

I let out a quiet sigh of relief and replied sharply.

“As you experienced yourself, the duration isn’t that long.”

“What’s the maximum?”

“About two hours.”

“That’s enough.”

After saying that confidently, he soon used telekinesis to strip the robes off the fallen guards.

“Here. Change.”

Thankfully, he handed one to me.

“…Thank you.”

I accepted it with trembling hands.

‘If you’re just going to use it for something this trivial, you could’ve knocked them out yourself…!’

It was miserable that I couldn’t openly complain.

Still, thanks to this, I could finally find out where the female lead was.

“Let’s go.”

Now dressed in white robes like the other believers, the two of us headed straight into the building.
