Cielo anxiously paced the hallway in front of the infirmary.

When Oscar was angry, at least he was still somewhat cute, but Ryan was pure menace. He didn’t say a word, just stared in silence, and that was somehow even more terrifying…

“Cielo, what are you doing out here?”

Just then, Ryan peeked his head out from inside the infirmary and called to him.

Startled, Cielo flinched hard and cautiously approached him, watching for any signs.

“…It’s nothing.”

Worried he might get scolded, Cielo glanced up at him. Ryan stared at him thoughtfully for a moment, then simply reached out and patted his head.

‘Phew…’

Looked like he wouldn’t be getting scolded after all.

After that day, Cielo tried his best to avoid taking suppressants. If he could sync his heat and rut cycles, maybe he could even have a child… but—

“H-Here! We’ve got an incoming patient!”

Seeing the clinic overflowing like this, he had no choice but to take them.

‘My heat cycle’s about to start soon…’

Cielo gnawed nervously at the inside of his cheek.

‘…Maybe just one more dose?’

It wasn’t like his cycles had ever aligned properly before, anyway.

His health had improved, and his heat cycles came more frequently than in the past, but… they were still so irregular that predicting them was nearly impossible.

‘If I just explain that I’m overworked and tired, that my cycle’s delayed…’

He hated lying, but he didn’t want to take Ryan and Oscar away from the already understaffed clinic just because of his own heat.

Then, Cielo felt a sudden rush of heat flare through his body—a warning signal before his heat fully hit.

‘If they find out, they’ll send me straight back to my room…’

Hesitating, he took a step back and glanced at Ryan, who was buried in the crowd of people.

‘He hasn’t noticed yet, right?’

Thinking that, Cielo slipped open the side door in the corner of the clinic and let his pheromones disperse as much as possible before stealthily moving away, avoiding Ryan’s line of sight.

If he got caught taking suppressants again—especially after already being discovered once—he’d really be in trouble this time.

‘So if I just take one pill without getting caught…’

Since Ryan had supposedly thrown away the ones he’d had before, Cielo stood in front of the shelf lined with medicine bottles, searching for his suppressants.

‘Wh-Where are they?’

They were definitely around here somewhere.

His hands moved frantically, worried Ryan might approach at any moment—but no matter how much he looked, he couldn’t find them.

“What medicine are you looking for, Cielo?”

A low voice came from behind him. At the same time, a faint, oppressive pheromone scent made Cielo swallow dryly.

…Gulp.

He was too afraid to turn around.

What excuse could he even give? That he was looking for some medicine? If asked which one, what would he say?

Cielo rarely ever had to search the medicine cabinet. He didn’t know much about the different types, since he mostly handled trauma patients.

“Looking for this, maybe?”

A sweet voice dripped over his head as Ryan wrapped an arm around Cielo’s waist. In his other hand was the very medicine Cielo had been searching for.

“N-No, I— That’s…”

“I told you not to take these anymore. Why won’t my sweet husband listen to me?”

Ryan’s voice grew lower with each word. Even without turning around, Cielo could perfectly picture the expression on his face.

“Hm? Answer me, Cielo.”

Frozen stiff, Cielo couldn’t utter a word—until the crisp scent of wood flooded his senses.

Without realizing it, he found himself rubbing against Ryan, who let out a low chuckle.

“Acting this cute won’t save you this time.”

The anger in Ryan’s voice seemed to soften slightly.

“B-But… if my heat cycle leaves the clinic understaffed…”

In one swift motion, Ryan lifted Cielo into his arms. Their eyes met, and Ryan’s crimson gaze filled his vision.

“You don’t have to worry about that anymore.”

“……Huh?”

“I already made the cure and handed it over.”
