Becoming the Terminally-Ill Villain Who Torments His Disciples - Chapter 114.1
“…Huh.”
Taehyuk let out a dry laugh as he silently stared at the message.
“Is he doing this on purpose?”
He was already irritated by that brat who had whispered to Eunwoo about missing him. And now, of all times, Eunwoo said he’d be coming home late, it didn’t sit well with him. Glowering at his phone in irritation, Taehyuk soon set it down as if tossing it aside.
Eunwoo wasn’t a kid. He’d probably come home after hanging out for a bit, nothing more.
They’d always agreed to be together at night. Eunwoo never came home past 10. The pointlessly earnest Lee Eunwoo was the type to always keep his word once he gave it.
“Director, is something wrong?”
“No. It’s nothing. Let’s go.”
Taehyuk stood up, determined not to think about Eunwoo anymore.
Once work started, Eunwoo would naturally fade from his thoughts. There was no need to dwell on it. As long as he came home properly at night, it would be fine.
‘Surely, that’s how it would be.’
…Or so he thought.
But not even an hour later, Taehyuk was forced to soothe his rising irritation.
‘It’s bothering me.’
Phone in hand, he stared at the chat window with Eunwoo.
Since the message about coming home late, Eunwoo hadn’t sent anything else.
That was only natural. Even if they lived together, they weren’t close enough to exchange messages about every little thing.
In fact, even when Eunwoo did mention his schedule, Taehyuk rarely replied.
As a result, Eunwoo gradually started messaging him less and less.
“I think I kept texting because it was kind of amazing that we could talk instantly even from far away. I’m sorry for bothering you while you’re working. From now on, I’ll only contact you if I’m going to be late or if something comes up.”
When Eunwoo said that, Taehyuk hadn’t thought much of it. As Eunwoo said, it just meant fewer notifications to check, so he told him to do as he liked.
But now…
“Director? …Director?”
“……”
“…Um…”
“Rejected. Redo it.”
Taehyuk stood up mid-report, barely listening to what was being said. If it was something that distracted him with idle thoughts, it probably wasn’t worth hearing anyway.
Even after that, he couldn’t focus on work.
Not after lunch, not when afternoon classes would’ve started, not even when Eunwoo would’ve gone to his part-time job after school.
Because there had been no contact from Eunwoo.
“Chief Yoon.”
“Yes, Director.”
“Find out where Lee Eunwoo is and what he’s doing right now.”
It was bothering him.
So much it was driving him insane.
His chest churned with such uncontrollable emotion that he grit his teeth. Chief Yoon, looking at his phone, then spoke.
“There was a message five minutes ago saying he just started his shift.”
“…What?”
“Apparently he’s going for drinks with classmates after work—”
“And how do you know that?”
Taehyuk growled, but Chief Yoon answered without flinching.
“Because I’m in contact with Eunwoo.”
“And how did you get his number?”
“We exchanged numbers last time when I accompanied him shopping for clothes.”
At that, Taehyuk let out a scoffing laugh.
Eunwoo said he didn’t want to bother him, so he avoided messaging—but he was casually chatting about everything with Yoon?
“Delete it.”
“Pardon?”
“His number. Delete it. Block him and don’t respond again.”
It annoyed him that Eunwoo was talking to others behind his back. That he no longer told him things, but laughed and chatted with someone else—he couldn’t stand it.
“But, sir…”
“If you don’t like it, hand in your resignation.”
Yoon’s eyes widened at the sharply delivered words. It was something his boss would never normally say.
“I apologize. I’ll take care of it immediately.”
Only then did Taehyuk seem satisfied, his expression relaxing slightly.
After a short silence, Taehyuk spoke again.
“So, where exactly are they drinking?”
“Sorry?”
“Do I have to ask twice?”
“…Ah, it’s a BBQ place in Daehak-ro. I’ll share the map with you now.”
