Becoming the Terminally-Ill Villain Who Torments His Disciples - Chapter 117.2
“Of course. A trait is just a trait. That’s not a reason for Dad to stop loving you.”
It was something Cielo had once said to Oscar. Words he offered when Oscar was anxious about not manifesting as an Alpha.
At that voice, Rona looked up at Cielo. Her eyes, swollen and red from crying, were starting to heat up with a fever.
“But sweetie… why are you suddenly talking about traits?”
Cielo met her gaze and asked softly. His voice was gentler than ever, but his eyes, as he questioned her, were sharp enough to kill someone.
“Sniff… Severus said… that Nicolas would definitely manifest as an Alpha, but I won’t become anything…”
At those words, Cielo looked up at Oscar. Oscar immediately left the infirmary with eyes burning, as if he was ready to kill someone.
“There will always be differences between those with traits and those without. But that doesn’t change a person’s worth.”
“…”
“Whether you’re a Beta, an Alpha, or an Omega… Dad loves you.”
As he whispered and kissed her forehead, Rona hugged Cielo’s neck and sniffled. Perhaps her head hurt from all the crying—she was already dozing off.
As he gently patted her back, Cielo let out a quiet sigh.
Rona and Nicolas resembled Oscar, who had the strongest dominant traits. They had even overpowered the genetic factor that said “all heirs of Esteban bear sky-blue hair.” It went without saying how powerful Oscar’s genes and traits were.
Because of that, Nicolas had shown signs of being an Alpha from a young age.
On his fifth birthday, Nicolas noticed the scent of acacia coming from Cielo. But Rona hadn’t experienced anything indicating her trait status yet.
Even when they explained that Nicolas was just early, or that Oscar himself only manifested when he became an adult, it didn’t help.
In the midst of that, it seemed the child of the Severus Baron family had run his mouth.
As Cielo continued patting Rona’s back, Ryan rushed into the infirmary, glancing between Cielo and the door.
“Oscar’s beating the crap out of Baron Severus outside. What happened?”
“He did something deserving of a beating. If he couldn’t raise his child properly, then the parent should take the hit.”
Ryan gave Cielo a puzzled look at his cold response.
“…What’s that supposed to mean?”
Cielo then told Ryan what he had heard. Upon hearing it, Ryan rolled up his sleeves and, eyes half-deranged, muttered,
“He said that to Rona? Should I go wipe them out?”
“…Sometimes, I think you’re a bit too dramatic, Ryan.”
“He said that crap to my daughter, and I’m just supposed to sit here?”
At Ryan’s loud, exaggerated voice, Rona’s body gave a little shiver.
When Cielo looked down, he saw Rona smiling. It seemed her mood had lifted thanks to the support from Cielo and Ryan.

“Alright, apologize.”
Rona, hiding behind Cielo’s leg, looked at Henry, the sobbing eldest son of the Severus family.
“…I’m sorry.”
The green-haired boy bowed deeply and fidgeted with his fingers. But Rona, arms crossed, answered coolly regardless of his expression.
“What are you sorry for?”
“For saying you’d be nothing…”
“Hmph! That’s right! You were mean. But my dad said it’s okay! Whether I’m a Beta, an Alpha, an Ome… whatever! He said he’d still love me. So I don’t need to worry about that stuff!”
She even stuck out her tongue with a scoff.
Hearing that, Henry bowed his head even further and muttered,
“…I hope you really end up being nothing.”
“What did you say?”
“I hope you don’t turn into anything.”
Just as Rona was about to explode in anger—
“Alphas date Omegas, and Omegas date Alphas! But if you end up manifesting as one…”
Before he could finish, Oscar clamped his large hand over Henry’s mouth from behind.
“What was that, kid? I don’t remember you saying anything like that earlier.”
“…Mmph! Mmmmph!”
“You dare try to woo my daughter? Let’s go. We’re sparring.”
Oscar tucked Henry under his arm and walked straight out of the infirmary.
Left behind, Rona’s face turned bright red as she looked up at Cielo.
“…D-Dad. I got confessed to!”
At that, Cielo burst into laughter and ruffled her hair. But even as he smiled, his voice came out more serious than expected.
“Dad’s against it, Rona.”
‘Trying to take my daughter? Not a chance.’
Cielo scoffed and pulled Rona into a big hug, roughly patting her head.
All he wanted was for this peace—
This happiness—
To last.
