Becoming the Terminally-Ill Villain Who Torments His Disciples - Chapter 18.1
Cielo stared up at the ceiling with an utterly drained expression.
“…I think I understand now why ‘Cielo’ hated traits and pheromones.”
Up until now, the fact that the novel he was possessed into was an Omegaverse hadn’t really hit him. But the moment he experienced a hole pulsing and leaking strange fluid, he was utterly horrified.
And only then did he realize.
This world… was one where men could get pregnant.
“…I’m going to die someday anyway because of my heart. I probably won’t ever get married.”
And if he wouldn’t get married, he wouldn’t be having children either.
So the only thing he’d need to deal with would be this cursed heat cycle.
…That’s how it had to be.
No matter how much he liked men, the idea of giving birth himself was a completely different matter.
‘No, wait. If I ever fall in love with someone for real… would I maybe want to have a child?’
Maybe he was having this thought because it was something he had never once considered in his entire life.
The fact that he was even having these worries and thoughts felt completely strange.
Shaking his head to clear his mind, Cielo slowly sat up.
He hadn’t taken a single step outside his room for a week.
He sluggishly undressed and headed to the bathroom.
His sweat-drenched clothes and body were unbearably uncomfortable.
A week ago, feeling a faint heat, Cielo had gone to the infirmary to get cold medicine—
only to be scolded by Ryan.
“Who the hell walks around in that state, totally defenseless?!”
It was the first time Cielo had ever seen Ryan so angry.
At the time, he had just felt sick and feverish, and had thought the scolding was extremely unfair.
“I really could’ve been in serious trouble…”
Cielo let out a weak laugh.
The heat he’d thought was from a cold had actually been a heat cycle.
Whether Ryan had sensed something was off or had picked up on the pheromones leaking out,
he grabbed Cielo’s wrist and immediately shoved him back into his room.
Then strictly warned him not to leave until the heat subsided.
“If you try to come out before the cycle ends, I don’t care if you’re a patient or not, I’ll knock you out and throw you back in.”
Even now, that low growl of a voice still echoed in his ears.
It must have been incredibly hard to speak with all the pheromones in the air,
yet Ryan had endured every kind of stimulus and left the room for Cielo’s sake.
“…His self-control is incredible.”
His first heat cycle had been painfully difficult.
The heat wouldn’t subside, and the tears kept falling.
He even suspected he’d rambled nonsense for that entire week.
He didn’t remember exactly what he’d said, but he didn’t need to to know the general tone of it.
People who had gone through a heat or rut often said they ended up blurting out pretty indecent things without realizing it.
“I probably said something like that too.”
Cielo’s face grew warm at the thought, and he cleared his throat.
He gathered the sweaty laundry into one pile and called for a servant.
Not long after, the servant appeared—
along with Oscar.
“Master!”
“You’re here? You’ve grown taller again, haven’t you?”
Cielo looked at Oscar quietly.
Lately, Oscar’s height had started shooting up.
When Cielo had first possessed this body, Oscar’s head barely reached his waist.
Now, a little over a year later, they could nearly meet eye to eye.
It was an absurdly fast growth.
‘Is it because of that medicine “Cielo” kept feeding him?’
He had thrown it away, thinking there was no way it could’ve been anything good.
And ever since, Oscar had been sprouting up like a bean sprout.
“I missed you, Master.”
When Oscar passed the laundry to the servant and faced him again,
he opened his arms, acting childishly, as if asking for a hug.
But the moment Cielo approached and opened his own arms,
Oscar flinched and stepped back.
“W-Wait a second, Master. Uh, um…”
Oscar mumbled, unable to speak properly, and quickly turned his back.
“I-I’ll come back later!”
He practically ran out of the room.
Staring after him in surprise, Cielo turned to the servant standing beside him.
“…Did I do something wrong?”
The servant kept his head lowered and didn’t say a word.
In the end, scratching his head, Cielo made his way to the infirmary.
“You’re here. Feeling any better?”
“I don’t have a fever anymore. By the way… where’s Oscar?”
“So after a whole week in seclusion, the first person you look for isn’t me, it’s Oscar?”
Ryan pouted in dissatisfaction, but Cielo looked around with his eyes, searching for Oscar.
“He came in after I finished tidying my bedding, but ran off as soon as we met.”
“Ran off?”
“Yes. Said he’d come back later and just left…”
Ryan let out a short “Ah.”
The reason Oscar had run away was the lingering pheromones still clinging to the laundry Cielo had been holding.
People on the verge of manifesting their traits were especially sensitive to pheromones.
Even the faintest trace would have been overwhelming to Oscar.
