Becoming the Terminally-Ill Villain Who Torments His Disciples - Chapter 19.1
Cielo, having returned to the room, glanced at Oscar. He had spent the whole day explaining things about the “next heat cycle,” but Oscar still wore a displeased expression.
“Why are you still making that face, hmm?”
Cielo asked, watching Oscar tear at the edge of a book in frustration as he sat in a chair.
Taking Oscar’s hand gently as if to soothe him and asking again, Oscar remained silent for a long time before slowly speaking.
“…I don’t like what Lord Doberman suggested.”
“You dislike it that much?”
“Yes. I really hate it.”
“Hmm, then should I just go alone? It was bearable this time too…”
“But… if that happens, Master will be in pain… I hate it more when you’re hurting.”
Ah, how cute. Cielo barely suppressed the urge to stroke Oscar’s cheeks.
Oscar, who had been pouting for a long time, slowly lifted his head.
“…Instead.”
“Hmm?”
“Next time, let me stay with you too.”
Even the way his violet eyes grew intense was unbearably cute.
Just a few months ago, he couldn’t even make eye contact—and now here he was, expressing his opinions and wants. It was so lovable.
“Alright.”
In any case, Oscar would eventually present as an omega. It was said that people with the same traits usually aren’t affected by each other’s pheromones, so even if they went through the heat cycle together, there shouldn’t be a problem.
Of course, he would act a little unruly during the process, but Cielo planned to ask Ryan to take him out at the right time. In the early stages of the cycle anyway, Cielo would mostly just suffer from heart pain.
“…Really?”
“Of course. Really.”
Oscar let out a sighing “Huh…” at the easy agreement. Was that not the answer he wanted? When Cielo tilted his head, Oscar spoke with a very serious face.
“Master, if anyone other than me or Lord Doberman ever asks to spend the heat cycle with you… please stab them with a knife.”
“…S-Sorry, what?”
“With a knife. Deeply.”
Thinking he had misheard, Cielo asked again—but Oscar replied firmly.
Cielo covered his mouth, unsure if he should be happy or sad.
Should he be glad that a boy who used to just get beaten and never knew how to fight back now had a sense of hostility?
Or should he be sad that a boy who once only used kind, proper words had been influenced by Ryan and now occasionally spoke roughly?
“Please answer me, okay?”
“Hmm… stabbing isn’t hard, but… that would make me a criminal. Are you sure you’re okay with that?”
Oscar looked genuinely thoughtful at Cielo’s question. With his arms crossed and hand on his chin, the sight was so cute that Cielo couldn’t help but chuckle faintly.
“I’ll protect you.”
“Hmm?”
“I will protect you. So go ahead—stab all those lecherous bastards.”
The intensity in his eyes as he said it made Cielo burst out laughing. And in the face of that adorable expression, Cielo couldn’t help but nod.
***
“Master.”
A now noticeably deeper voice called out to Cielo.
As Cielo stirred, he burrowed toward the source of warmth with a soft, whining sound.
“Master, it’s time to get up.”
He no longer stuttered. The clear, low voice expressing himself confidently showed just how much time had passed.
“Just a little more…”
Cielo barely managed to answer, lips barely moving. It was too cold to open his eyes right away.
Oscar stretched out his arms and pulled Cielo into an embrace.
Just a few years ago, it had always been Oscar who curled up in Cielo’s arms. But at some point, the roles had reversed.
Now when Oscar reached out and hugged him, the smaller-framed Cielo ended up being the one wrapped in Oscar’s arms.
With his face buried in Cielo’s shoulder, Oscar took a deep breath. The sweet scent of acacia filled his nose and gave him a sense of peace.
Cielo still hadn’t fully woken and looked half-asleep.
“Then stay in bed a bit longer. I’ll go run the bath.”
“Mmkay…”
Oscar let out a soft chuckle at the drowsy voice.
Normally, Cielo always used polite speech with everyone. But when half-asleep, his language loosened up—and only Oscar knew that.
Feeling oddly proud, Oscar quietly watched Cielo’s sleeping face.
‘So pretty…’
He swallowed the words he couldn’t say out loud, then slowly got out of bed.
Cielo had always been weak when it came to sleep. Oscar hadn’t noticed it when he was younger, but Cielo was the kind of person who would fall asleep the moment his head hit the pillow. In contrast, Oscar had always had a light, sensitive sleep even as a child.
‘That’s why I always woke up.’
Oscar smiled, recalling his childhood.
Whenever the lights in the room were turned off, Cielo would gently tap on Oscar’s chest.
He would whisper sweet words and tell him to sleep well. And just when Oscar was about to drift off, those words always woke him back up.
