Becoming the Terminally-Ill Villain Who Torments His Disciples - Chapter 2.2
Even asking to sleep because he was tired, does he need to watch for reactions that carefully?
‘No wonder he’s been shaking since earlier. So the abuse has already started…’
When he flinched to protect his head as Eunwoo reached out earlier, Eunwoo had doubted it. But now, it was certain.
Eunwoo let out a sigh and replied as gently as possible,
“If you’re sleepy, then sleep.”
At the response, Oscar’s eyes opened wide. The moment their eyes met, Oscar quickly lowered his head and said,
“Thank you!”
But the problem came next.
Oscar crawled on all fours like a dog and curled up even further into the corner. As if he were going to sleep there.
“…Oscar.”
“Yes!”
At the soft call, Oscar jumped up and knelt.
“Don’t tell me—that’s where you sleep?”
As Oscar looked at him like he didn’t understand what the problem was, Eunwoo ground his teeth.
‘That piece of trash…’
Even if he hadn’t finished the novel, Eunwoo knew well that Cielo was a villain. And that he had abused Oscar.
But knowing it in your head and seeing it with your own eyes were completely different things.
‘What could that child have possibly done wrong?’
A cold anger surged within him. The feeling made his insides twist, and Eunwoo clenched his fists.
Cielo had definitely hit Oscar. The way Oscar immediately cowered and hid in a corner as soon as they entered the room.
Cielo probably shouted at him whenever he saw him, threw things, maybe even struck him directly.
Eunwoo bit his lip and looked at Oscar.
‘…I don’t want to hurt you.’
He didn’t know how long Oscar had been abused by Cielo. He didn’t know what had happened or how deeply wounded Oscar was.
But one emotion welled up clearly in Eunwoo’s heart:
‘I want to save him.’
Maybe he wouldn’t have thought this way if he had possessed Cielo after Oscar was already an adult.
But this boy, no older than ten, with eyes full of longing for love, trying desperately not to be hated. He looked so much like Eunwoo’s past self.
Maybe that was why.
If no one else would hold that small child’s hand, Eunwoo wanted to do it. He wanted to comfort Oscar’s hurt heart with kind words and teach him what it meant to be loved through warmth and gentleness.
Because Eunwoo had once wished for the same thing.
“Oscar.”
“Yes, Master…”
Would Oscar accept an apology for all that had happened?
No. He might grow suspicious instead, unsure of Eunwoo’s true intentions. If Eunwoo were in Oscar’s place, he might also stare back with wary eyes and shrink even further.
If so, it would be better to slowly change his behavior over time. Sudden kindness from someone who had always been cruel would only plant deeper fear and anxiety.
“From now on, sleep in the bed.”
“…Th-the bed?”
“On second thought, it’d be more troublesome if you caught a cold.”
“Ah…”
“What’s wrong? Do you have a problem with my decision?”
Eunwoo deliberately mimicked Cielo’s speech pattern. Oscar flinched and hurriedly replied,
“N-no, not at all!”
“Then get in bed and sleep—quickly.”
At the cold tone, Oscar crawled on all fours toward the bed. Eunwoo wanted to comment on how pitiful it looked, but…
‘…One step at a time. Just take it slow.’

While Oscar was asleep, Cielo looked around the room. Though he had possessed this body, there was still time before the original story began.
‘I should at least figure out how long until Oscar becomes an adult.’
Thinking that, he searched the desk and found several letters addressed to Cielo.
‘A coming-of-age ceremony?’
The first thing he found was a letter from the Esteban family.
It asked who Cielo wished to invite to the coming-of-age ceremony in eight months and stated firmly that the Doberman family’s heir would be invited no matter what.
“Wait—what? The coming-of-age ceremony hasn’t even happened yet? And this brat who’s not even grown has already been abusing a child…!”
As his irritated voice trailed off, the bed bounced as Oscar startled awake, his eyes wide.
“I-is something wrong?”
Cielo bit his lip and held his tongue.
…He needed to stay quiet.
