Becoming the Terminally-Ill Villain Who Torments His Disciples - Chapter 25.1
Oscar left the clinic grumbling after exchanging heated words with Ryan.
He had thought they were of one mind when it came to matters involving Cielo, but even that guy was treating Cielo with a half-hearted attitude.
“When was it that he went on about being allies?”
Oscar and Ryan had come to an agreement three years ago, at some point.
Their shared goal was to monitor Cielo’s every move, observe whom he spoke to, secretly rescue him from danger, and ensure his safety.
They had the same goal, but different reasons.
Ryan said it was because he was worried about the ailing Cielo.
But Oscar simply wanted to know everything about Cielo. What he liked, what he disliked, what his biggest recent concern was.
Cielo rarely spoke about himself. He didn’t share what was in his heart, nor did he explain what he was thinking.
“…Still, Master likes me the most.”
Oscar murmured the words like an affirmation to himself.
The amethyst-colored eyes, which Cielo had always complimented for their beauty, now gleamed with obsession and possessiveness.
“So annoying.”
Honestly, he wanted to push Ryan away from Cielo.
But Oscar wasn’t strong enough to attempt something like that.
He didn’t have the physical ability that Ryan did. He wasn’t skilled with a sword either.
He couldn’t even properly use his healing ability and was in a position where he had to rely on Cielo.
“Just a little longer, please wait for me, Master. I’ll become strong, I promise…”
If he could just do that, what he hoped for might become reality.
Oscar clenched his fist tightly.
To protect Cielo, he needed real power and influence.
For now, that meant keeping Ryan nearby.
But one day, if he could become someone greater than Ryan…
“Tch.”
Clicking his tongue, Oscar began walking with long strides. But soon after, he frowned from a small sting at his fingertips.
As he raised his hand, a faint white spark flashed and disappeared.
Lately, these strange symptoms had been showing up now and then.
“It was like this when my healing ability first manifested too.”
He should’ve asked about it.
But Ryan’s red eyes had irritated him so much that he left without looking back when told to go.
“Seriously annoying.”
Muttering again, Oscar turned back and stared silently down the corridor.
He hated the way Ryan pretended to act like an adult.
It irritated him whenever Cielo spoke kindly to Ryan.
He hated that Ryan used the excuse of being an alpha to try spending the heat cycle with Cielo.
“One day, definitely.”
Oscar took a deep breath, closing then opening his eyes, as he shoved those indescribably sticky, dirty emotions deep inside his chest.
Oscar, now calmly hiding his emotions, buried his obsession and desire in the deepest pit of his mind.
…He wanted to see Cielo again. As soon as possible.

“The Crown Prince is missing…?”
Cielo, who was eating breakfast, opened his eyes wide as he read the official report.
It said the Crown Prince, Eli, who had arrived safely in the North and had been managing public sentiment, had gone missing.
The disappearance occurred near a village in the North, but it was not a name Cielo recognized.
“They’re saying he’s missing, not dead?”
“Pardon?”
Oscar, seated beside him, made a vague comment.
Cielo turned and asked again.
“Not dead? “ He stared closely at Oscar, wondering if he knew something.
Oscar answered without so much as a change in expression.
“People in the North must know what happened in the imperial palace. Maybe… they’re dragging the war on for three more years.”
He also added that perhaps Eli had harassed those around him during his time in the North.
There was an old proverb that said, a person’s nature doesn’t change.
Oscar was implying Eli hadn’t changed either.
He had acted like a tyrant in the palace, crowded with nobles. So in the North, with fewer eyes watching, who knows what he did?
“He may be listed as missing, but who knows what the outcome will be.”
Cielo shook his head and pushed aside his interest in the matter.
In fact, it would be better if Eli never returned. That face and his pheromone scent were things Cielo never wanted to deal with again.
If he had gone missing in the North, then the chances were high that he’d eventually be found dead.
The North had treacherous terrain, constant blizzards, and creatures lurking in the wild that could be beasts or monsters.
“Dying like that might be more honorable than being beaten to death.”
With that short thought, Cielo shook his head and erased Eli from his mind.
Whatever happened to Eli wasn’t his concern. If Eli was gone, it would only make it easier for Cielo to escape once Oscar’s trait manifested.
So there was no downside to it at all.
