“Thank you…”

At Cielo’s weak voice, a vein popped on Ryan’s neck. He forced down the anger rising inside him and simply patted Cielo’s back without saying a word.

The ones called parents tried to marry Cielo off to that half-witted crown prince, and the so-called brothers treated Cielo like a toy.

Even though he was born and raised in a place like that, Cielo never once showed signs of pain, as if it was something he had to endure on his own.

Ryan deeply regretted that.

If the man in front of him was the “real Cielo,” then it must mean he still couldn’t bring himself to share his true feelings with Ryan.

Ryan felt a pang of disappointment, wondering if that meant Cielo still didn’t consider him close enough.

Even if another being was inside his body, and only the instinct of fear remained, Ryan was disappointed that Cielo hadn’t even called out his own name in front of his brothers.

While Ryan was deep in thought, resting his face against Cielo’s shoulder, a quiet knock sounded from outside.

It seemed the people he had called earlier had arrived.

Ryan looked down at Cielo and hesitated.

Cielo was still clinging to him like a koala.

It was probably because he’d seen the twins.

Not wanting to let go just yet, Ryan opened the door while still holding Cielo in his arms.

Cielo asked softly,

“Who… who is it?”

“The betas. Ah, I made sure to bring ones who can’t hear.”

He had once mentioned in the past  that he hated spouting nonsense during heat.

It seemed Ryan had remembered that and carefully arranged things to eliminate all his worries.

After patting Cielo’s back a few more times, Ryan gently set him down on the bed and began preparing for the heat cycle.

He locked all the doors and windows, and drew the curtains tightly shut.

“Okay, and this.”

Ryan reached out his hand, and one of the betas who had come in handed him a soft blanket.

Spreading it over the bed, Ryan picked Cielo up again and laid him down on top of it.

“What’s this?”

As soon as Cielo asked, Ryan rolled him over.

He wrapped Cielo tightly in the blanket like a burrito.

Bound not by ropes but by a thick blanket, Cielo looked at Ryan in disbelief.

But Ryan, claiming everything was now ready, just held him against the headboard.

“I imagined it once, you know.”

“…?”

“If all I have to do is endure the pheromones, I think I can manage…”

The moment Ryan finished speaking—

Whether it was because the tension had finally released, or because he’d been lightly exposed to Alpha pheromones earlier—

As soon as Ryan’s warmth touched his skin, pheromones began to pour out from Cielo’s body.

“Hngh…”

Cielo frowned and buried his face in Ryan’s shoulder.

His eyebrows curved, his face flushed red, and his body began trembling as he pressed in close.

Seeing that, Ryan instinctively felt heat surge below.

“…I don’t think I can handle you squirming like that.”

“W-what… are you saying…”

“You don’t need to know.”

The moment Ryan finished speaking, a painful moan escaped Cielo’s lips.

The pain in his chest had begun with the start of his heat cycle.

As if he’d been waiting, Ryan released his pheromones, and Cielo’s painful voice slowly began to weaken.

‘…This is insane.’

Ryan squeezed his eyes shut as he looked at Cielo panting in his arms.

With every breath, Cielo’s pheromones puffed out, making it hard to stay clear-headed.

When he had tested it with other Omegas’ scents, he had never felt anything.

But Cielo’s pheromones were different.

They pierced not just Ryan’s skin, but straight to the bone, soaking into his brain like poison.

In the end, Ryan rested his chin on Cielo’s shoulder and held him tight.

Even in this state, all he wanted was to make Cielo comfortable, so he released his pheromones slowly, making sure not to overwhelm him.

“Haa…”

The pain-wracked expression on Cielo’s face gradually began to soften.

But that wasn’t the real problem.

The real torment was only just beginning.

“Ryan…”

“…”

“Touch me… I feel stifled. My body’s itching. Please…”

Because he was wrapped up in the blanket, Cielo’s wriggling looked almost adorably like a caterpillar,

But the look in his wet eyes and the words coming from his mouth were anything but cute.

They were erotic.

With tears welling in his eyes, Cielo pleaded,

“Please… touch me…”
