Becoming the Terminally-Ill Villain Who Torments His Disciples - Chapter 73.1
“…We shouldn’t have done that.”
Sol lowered his gaze and clenched his fist as he muttered.
“Think about it again. Doesn’t this feel… off?”
Sol, who always kept a cool head, had accepted Typhon’s words without hesitation. But what they were doing had long since crossed the line of mere bullying—so much so that even Pielago had tried to stop him.
But Sol hadn’t listened to Pielago. He committed a terrible crime and felt no remorse until Cielo brought him down.
“Would I have felt better if we had at least had some excuse?”
But no matter the reason, to Cielo, Sol and Pielago were nothing less than villains—criminals.
“Why do you think Cielo let us live?”
According to Pielago, he too had survived thanks to Cielo’s intervention. They hadn’t become the next sacrifice.
Sol leaned his forehead against the bars and closed his eyes. With a heart already so thoroughly tainted, he couldn’t begin to understand Cielo’s intentions.

“Ugh…”
His body felt heavy, like it was weighed down by a soaked cotton quilt. As he struggled to push away the blanket covering his chest, someone gently pulled it back for him.
“You’re awake, Master?”
Oscar’s gentle voice reached his ears. Though his mind had returned, his body still wouldn’t move.
As Cielo rubbed his eyes sluggishly, Ryan’s voice came from the other side.
“Is the bed stuffy? Want me to hold you, Cielo?”
As that soft voice coaxed an unconscious movement from him, his hand beginning to reach out—
“…Now that’s a side of you I’ve never seen before.”
The voice wasn’t Ryan’s or Oscar’s. It was someone else entirely.
Startled, Cielo’s eyes flew open and he sat up. The man who’d spoken looked even more surprised.
“Sol…?”
In front of him sat Sol and Pielago, their faces still swollen and bruised from the beating they’d taken not long ago.
Cielo couldn’t hide his shock as he glanced between the two. Oscar stepped in and gently rubbed his back.
“I told you we should wait until Master woke up to call them. Look how startled he is because of them.”
“Come on, who was the one saying you couldn’t relax unless they were right in front of you? Afraid they’d pull something if left alone?”
While Ryan and Oscar bickered as usual, Cielo remained silent, quietly staring at the twins.
Meeting his gaze, they both lowered their eyes, guilt weighing heavily on their faces.
Cielo leaned back against the headboard, still watching them.
“Are you both alright?”
At his question, Sol and Pielago’s bodies gave a small shudder. Slowly, they raised their heads and nodded.
“I think we should be more worried about you. Are you… not doing well?”
Sol’s voice was uncertain. Cielo blinked. He hadn’t expected to hear concern for him from them.
Dropping his eyes briefly, Cielo nodded slowly.
“When pain repeats in the same way, you start to get used to it.”
“…”
“It’s not okay, but it’s bearable.”
At his answer, the twins fell silent again. The weight of their sins made it impossible to speak easily.
For a long moment, no one said anything. Then Sol finally opened his mouth.
“Why didn’t you kill us?”
“…”
“The things we did to you… they weren’t mistakes. You know that.”
Even if they had been manipulated by Typhon’s lies, it was still their choice to hurt Cielo.
“…It’s true that once we found out you were born out of wedlock, we stopped feeling guilty about what we were doing. But… even if you hadn’t been, we probably still would’ve tormented you.”
Sol spoke with certainty. Knowing their personalities, they would’ve resented Cielo no matter what. In the end, this cruelty would have begun one way or another.
“I wanted to kill you.”
On a human level, Cielo had wanted to end them. He believed that by cutting off their breath, he could finally be free from the torment.
But—
“When I wanted to say ‘kill them,’ I heard a voice.”
“…Please don’t kill them. I’m begging you.”
That clear voice—he was sure it belonged to the owner of this body.
