Becoming the Terminally-Ill Villain Who Torments His Disciples - Chapter 87.2
Startled, Cielo reached out and grabbed the collars of the two.
“W-wait a moment.”
“……”
“Something feels wrong. I don’t think we should follow him.”
He had a strong feeling that it was a mistake from the very beginning, when they followed Typhon into the mansion.
While Cielo was watching Typhon’s back warily, Pielago muttered under his breath.
“…Brother…”
“…?”
“Brother, why… are you going alone…?”
As if possessed by something, Pielago brushed away Cielo’s hand gripping his collar and staggered after Typhon. Sol was no different.
“Pielago, you have to listen to your brother. Let’s go together, don’t go alone…”
Their staggering steps looked off. Their eyes were unfocused, and the way they muttered made it seem like they were completely unaware of their surroundings.
“Wait, both of you, get a hold of yourselves…!”
Cielo shouted as he clung to their arms in desperation. But it was difficult for him to stop two men who were each at least ten centimeters taller and much bigger.
Eventually, Cielo was being dragged along, clinging to their bodies, when Typhon—who had been silently watching—let out a cold smirk and said,
“It’s almost funny, how you’re trying to resist.”
“……”
“Let go of all your thoughts. The more you struggle to face reality, the more painful it will be—for you alone.”
“…No.”
Cielo tried to pull back while still clutching the twins’ arms.
He didn’t know exactly what was happening, but one thing was certain—he must not go to wherever Typhon was trying to lead them.
“There’s no benefit in holding out like that.”
As Typhon spoke, he flicked a finger toward Cielo. At that moment, a black wind blew past and swept over Cielo’s entire body.
It felt like something filthy and vile had covered him. A stench so foul it could numb the nose filled the air, and the more he inhaled it, the more dazed he felt.
“Yes, let go of everything like that.”
The sneering voice of Typhon echoed vividly in Cielo’s ears.
Crack, boom!
A bolt of lightning struck outside the mansion, and Cielo’s shoulders flinched violently. In that instant, the part of his mind that had been fading snapped back, and his blurry vision cleared.
“…Tch. So noisy.”
Typhon grumbled and frowned as if annoyed. With a snap of his fingers, the windows turned black, and the noise from outside was completely shut out.
It felt as though this place and the outside world were entirely separate realms.
And in that moment, it became clear.
“…You’re not my father.”
The man standing in front of him—though he wore Typhon’s shell, what stood there was something completely different. The body was Typhon’s, but what was inside it was not him. It was something darker, deeper, and more ancient.
“And it seems you’re not the real owner of that body, either.”
The unfamiliar being straightened its previously hunched back. Tossing the cane aside like it was no longer needed, it stretched widely and walked toward Cielo.
“That body is definitely the vessel tied to our contract.”
“……”
“But your soul is different. Is that why you aren’t being consumed by the aura? This has never happened before.”
Muttering to himself, the being reached out and grabbed Cielo’s chin.
Cielo wanted to back away, but if he made the wrong move, he might end up handing the twins over entirely. So he couldn’t easily move.
When Cielo looked up, Typhon’s appearance began to change.
Eyes elongated like a cat’s and pupils that could no longer be called human. Smooth, marble-like skin and pitch-black hair. There was no way to consider this figure human.
The stranger tilted his head, looking down at Cielo like prey.
“How strange. Before I awakened in this world, I’m sure I saw a soul like yours… one that was blue.”
