Becoming the Terminally-Ill Villain Who Torments His Disciples - Chapter 93.2
It was as if he truly remembered nothing.
‘…What should I do?’
If they had been married, he could have at least gone to him and said, “I’m your husband.” But there was no wedding ring on Ryan or Oscar’s fingers, and no formal certification, either.
“I shouldn’t have let things stay vague…”
Muttering to himself, Cielo opened the door and came to a halt the moment he saw the person inside the room.
A thick towel barely covered Oscar’s lower body, as if he had just stepped out of the bath. Droplets of water falling from the ends of his hair ran down his chest muscles and soaked into the crevice between his abs.
Oscar’s body…
‘Was it always this good?’
Before he even realized it, Cielo swallowed dryly. His gaze refused to leave Oscar’s body.
“Who are you?”
Oscar’s low voice broke the silence just as Cielo stood there blankly.
Unlike his usual tone—cheerful and high-pitched whenever he was around Cielo—his voice now was deeply subdued.
Startled, Cielo quickly raised his head and looked at Oscar’s face. Unconsciously, he murmured,
“Your scar…”
A dark mark marred the right side of Oscar’s forehead, which had once been smooth and spotless.
It was the result of the miasma’s poison. The corruption had altered his skin. Even though the poison was long gone, the damage back then must not have healed completely.
…Was his power not strong enough?
He had tried to pour out all the power he could.
Without thinking, Cielo slowly approached Oscar.
Perhaps if he healed him again now, the wound would disappear. Maybe he could erase the scar completely. He reached out his hand with that thought in mind—
Smack!
A large hand struck the back of his hand roughly.
“I asked who you were.”
Only then did Cielo snap back to his senses and silently look down at his reddened hand. Quietly covering the back of the struck hand with his other, he spoke with a bitter expression,
“I’m the owner of this room.”
“…What?”
“I heard from Ryan that this room had been left as it was, so I came here. It seems you’ve been using it, Oscar.”
It was only natural.
Even after coming of age, Oscar had continued to share a room with Cielo. Later on, even Ryan had stayed in that room. Others would have naturally assumed this room was Oscar’s as well and guided him here.
“I vaguely heard there was someone else using the room. I apologize for the intrusion.”
“It’s fine. In fact, it would likely be uncomfortable for you to share the room now. I’ll request a new one for—”
Cielo suddenly shut his mouth.
The truth was, he didn’t want Oscar to leave this room.
Now that the Esteban Ducal House had collapsed, Cielo no longer held any power. Oscar, now granted the title of Count, wielded far more influence.
“Ah, a new room… I’m not sure how to make such a request. Could you tell me how?”
Oscar’s tone was so polite that Cielo bit down lightly on the inside of his cheek.
He curled his hand into a fist beneath the long sleeve of his robe and tried his best to maintain a neutral expression.
“I’ll submit the request for you. However, there have been various incidents lately, so it may take a little time…”
“Then I’ll stay elsewhere in the meantime.”
“…Pardon?”
“You’d be uncomfortable with me here too, wouldn’t you?”
At those plainspoken words, Cielo parted his lips.
Just seeing Oscar’s face again made him so happy that he trembled. There was no way he would feel uncomfortable.
“Then, please rest—”
As Oscar turned to leave the room,
“…Don’t go.”
Cielo reached out and grabbed his arm.
Oscar widened his eyes in surprise at the almost pleading tone.
In contrast, Cielo, startled by his own actions, began to babble.
“I–I mean… it’s fine if you stay here. We’ve always shared this room anyway…”
“….”
“I heard your memory is unstable. Then—or rather, all the more reason for us to stay close, don’t you think?”
Cielo looked up at him with trembling lips.
“…You need to regain your memories.”
