Becoming the Terminally-Ill Villain Who Torments His Disciples - Chapter 99.1
Every one of Cielo’s actions made Oscar worry to the point of holding his breath.
Walking around so casually in a place where an epidemic was spreading, not even getting proper sleep amidst it all—none of it sat right with him.
From start to finish, everything made him uneasy.
But Oscar couldn’t bring himself to nag at him.
He had always responded as if he’d listen to anything Oscar said, yet even so, Cielo had held firm and stepped into the crowd of the sick.
“…He probably just let me win every time.”
No—since he always addressed him as Master, maybe there wasn’t even a concept of winning or losing between them.
Grumbling inwardly, Oscar kept his distance while guarding Cielo. He didn’t reveal his presence and stayed well-hidden, so Cielo didn’t even notice he was nearby.
‘He smiles so easily at everyone else like that.’
Oscar couldn’t understand why, whenever Cielo faced him, his expression would stiffen and he’d look around like he didn’t know where to put his eyes.
‘It’s not like I’m going to eat him.’
Still, Oscar could somewhat understand where Cielo was coming from.
Until now, whenever Cielo said something, Oscar would reply with grumbling words. It wasn’t surprising that Cielo found him difficult and never smiled his way.
“…That’s not how I meant it to be.”
Oscar had tried, in his own way, to respond kindly to whatever Cielo said.
But somehow, it never came out that way.
Every time Cielo spoke to him, Oscar felt so thrilled inside that he could burst, and yet all that ever came out of his mouth were curt, blunt replies.
Every time he heard Cielo’s voice, he tensed up for no reason, and his words came out completely different from what he’d intended.
“This damned body is to blame for all of this.”
Even though he knew that wasn’t really the problem, Oscar still blamed his lower half.
The truth was, his lower body was partially responsible for how stiffly he treated Cielo. Every time he saw his face, every time he caught that oddly familiar scent of acacia, it would spring to life, proudly asserting itself.
Whenever that happened, he had no choice but to end the conversation quickly and hide himself. Even Cielo would look at him with disgust if something like that happened mid-conversation.
To make matters worse, his body was still reacting faithfully even now, more than a month later, whenever he saw Cielo.
“…Haah.”
Even now, just watching from this distance, he could feel the heat building. At this point, Oscar was starting to wonder if something was actually wrong with him.
“But it looks like he’s finally trying to get some rest.”
Oscar let out a sigh of relief as he secretly watched Cielo. If he had kept going without resting today as well, Oscar had seriously planned to march over there, haul him over his shoulder, and throw him into bed.
It made sense. Cielo hadn’t gotten any proper sleep in the last two weeks.
But contrary to Oscar’s hopes, Cielo soon appeared before his eyes again. Not only that, he even drew out his powers to heal others, and now he was insisting on treating Oscar as well, saying he was perfectly fine.
‘Why does he always act in ways that make it impossible for me to respond gently?’
He was clearly exhausted, and Oscar just wanted him to go get some rest.
But Cielo, who wasn’t even injured, insisted on healing Oscar, as if it were something that absolutely had to be done, clinging to his arm.
“If you let me heal you just once, I won’t bother you anymore about recovering your memories.”
At that moment, Oscar felt like his heart dropped.
Saying he wouldn’t bother him anymore about regaining his memories… Did that mean he wouldn’t even look at him anymore?
If that was the case, then Oscar couldn’t let him heal him under any circumstances. If Cielo healed him and his memories still didn’t come back, then Oscar wouldn’t have any other way to approach him.
So he deliberately gave a sharp reply.
But unlike usual, Cielo didn’t quietly step back. Instead, as if he had made up his mind, he gripped Oscar’s arm firmly.
“Fine then.”
If nothing changed even after the treatment, he would say it then.
That he had never been trying to avoid him.
