By Some Unbelievable Twist, I Became the Villainess’s Older Brother - Chapter 15.2
Folding the paper as it had been and returning it to the envelope, Enoch answered slowly.
“It isn’t a letter. It’s an invitation.”
“An invitation? Then the First Princess wants to invite you? Hmm… But this isn’t the first time, is it?”
“You remember that too?”
“Yes. Of course! I remember everything about you! This is, um, hmm… Ah! It’s already the fifth invitation from the First Princess!”
Counting on her fingers one by one, Zyla raised her chin as though asking if she was correct. Enoch readily nodded.
“That’s right. My little sister is clever, as expected.”
Smiling fondly, Enoch squeezed Zyla’s soft cheeks. Thoroughly pleased, Zyla swung her feet and eagerly ate the snacks Enoch pushed toward her.
“So when will you go see the First Princess, Brother?”
“Hmm. Why do you think I’ll go?”
“Hm? Because… aren’t you curious? She sent four invitations before this, and you refused every one!”
“…That is true.”
When Enoch nodded slightly, Zyla put on a resolute expression.
“But if she sent another invitation even after that, doesn’t it mean she must have something important to say? The First Princess isn’t someone who would send invitations lightly!”
“…That is true as well.”
Zyla was right. Without some purpose, the Princess would not have sent so many invitations.
If only in acknowledgment of her sincerity in continuing to invite him, it might be worthwhile to meet the First Princess properly at least once and determine what she intended. In truth, he had already more or less decided.
Just as Enoch, his resolve firm, tapped the letter, Zyla suddenly clasped both hands and blinked dreamily after thinking hard about something.
“Come to think of it, Brother, we met the First Princess together before, didn’t we? She was truly beautiful then… I had never seen such an elegant beauty.”
Enoch blinked. He did not clearly remember the First Princess’s face, but recalling Adelio’s face was enough to make him think Zyla was probably right.
Where would those genes go? Moreover, Zyla had said so herself, which meant the Princess must be an extraordinary beauty. Enoch nodded lightly in agreement.
Zyla abruptly turned her head and asked.
“When I grow up, can I become like the First Princess too?”
“Yes. Our Zyla will surely become even more remarkable and clever than she is.”
“Why won’t you say I’ll be pretty?”
“Because you’re already more than pretty enough?”
“I knew you were the only one for me, Brother!”
Zyla threw herself into his arms again in delight, and Enoch willingly opened them and embraced her.
As he patted Zyla’s back, Enoch’s gaze drifted to the wax seal on the envelope. The crest of the Imperial Family was stamped into it.
In truth, the First Princess had little presence in the novel. She was merely a beautiful woman beloved by the people.
The story had never mentioned that she found the Divine Physician as she had here, nor that she was called a Saintess. The Divine Physician had simply been at the Imperial Palace from the beginning, and the story revolved entirely around the female protagonist.
That was why the present situation made Enoch even more uneasy. He couldn’t tell whether this had truly happened in the novel as well or whether it was a new change caused by his transmigration as Enoch.
Still, once he met the First Princess, he would naturally learn what she was plotting. Holding Zyla more securely, Enoch began composing his reply in his head.
Her answer arrived before a full day passed. The First Princess said she had plenty of time and any date would suit her. She even offered to meet the very next day. Enoch did not refuse.
The following day, he immediately prepared to enter the Imperial Palace. After changing clothes and eating, he took his time and leisurely entered the carriage.
Recalling the clock he had checked before leaving, Enoch tilted his head slightly. It seemed he would arrive at least thirty minutes before the appointed time.
