At the staff’s clear voice, Ha-on suddenly snapped back to his senses.

One dart remained.

The balloons were still shining in their respective colors.

To other people, it might just be a fifth opportunity, but to Ha-on right now, it felt like a completely different weight.

Very slowly, Ha-on took one step closer to Cha Jeongwon’s side.

A distance where the backs of their hands almost grazed… A distance where their breaths would soon touch each other.

“Now, the last one.”

Ha-on’s lips moved naturally. Fluttering excitement and tension leaked into the end of his words without him realizing it.

“This time… try to do it properly.”

“Do what.”

Cha Jeongwon turned his head. Their eyes met at a place much closer than expected.

Inside those black pupils, his own face was reflected small.

Even without words, it felt like he was conveying something with just his gaze alone, so his breath caught in his throat.

The moment he met those eyes, calculation stopped inside Ha-on’s head.

How crazy of an act this was, and the thought that he might get beaten to death right away for doing it for no reason, they all popped up once and then withered away just as they were.

Still, he wanted to try it just one more time.

It’s only one life anyway.

While it was a flimsy excuse, it was a perfect opportunity to test it right now.

As if knowing what kind of act he was about to commit next, pheromones leaked out.

The more his heart thudded, the more heat rose along his blood vessels, and a sweet scent bloomed following that heat. As his scent seeped into the air, the surrounding noise grew distant and only the sound of his heart rang clearly.

It was the first time in his life he had done such a surprise act toward someone. Even while being flustered by the change occurring within himself, Ha-on did not stop.

In one corner of his head, it made a fuss asking, ‘Are you really going to do it? Really?’, but it was already after he had made up his mind to do so.

As if spellbound, he put strength into the tips of his toes.

And toward him, who was about to throw the dart, raising himself on tiptoes…

Mwah.

He kissed his cheek. The sound of skin touching and pulling away rang clearly near his ear.

Even though it was a moment of brief contact, the sensation stretched long. The temperature of his hot lips mingled with his lukewarm skin. He could also feel the body scent hidden beneath his pheromones.

“…”

Cha Jeongwon’s shoulders hardened rigidly. Like him standing frozen as if time had stopped, Ha-on froze up together with him.

Thump, it felt like his heart dropped and bounced right back up.

“Throw it…”

His voice trembled on its own.

Still, Ha-on pretended to be as composed as possible.

“Now try throwing it.”

Without a word, Cha Jeongwon gripped the fifth dart tightly, enough for the tendons on the back of his hand to bulge slightly.

And the dart flew.

The exact same as before, no, perhaps even more precisely.

Pop.

The balloon vibrated once, shuddered lightly, and burst right away.

Pieces poured down below.

The staff, who had been secretly grinning foolishly to himself ever since Ha-on did the surprise kiss, sprinted toward the popped balloon almost as if springing up.

Sweeping between the pieces with his hand, he searched for and pulled out the folded paper inside.

During that brief moment, the surrounding sounds seemed to grow distant once again.

The placard fluttering in the wind seemed to have only movement left while the sound vanished, and the darts stuck in the balloons seemed to vibrate minutely.

“Now, the final result is out.”

The staff unfolded the paper.

His eyes widened roundly.

“Uh… Whoa, this.”

After taking a breath about twice, he shouted right away in a voice raised a tone higher.

“1st place! Congratulations! It’s a 5-star hotel premium spa day pass and a 2-person dinner voucher!”

The luck… worked.

The murmuring voices from the side grew louder.

The people who were watching burst into exclamations, and several even clapped their hands as if genuinely envious.

However, Ha-on and Cha Jeongwon, the very ones who drew 1st place, could not rejoice. Cha Jeongwon seemed surprised by Ha-on’s sudden behavior, and Ha-on was also plunged into his own set of worries.

Even though it was a moment so brief that calling it a kiss felt embarrassing, how soft his cheek touching his lips had been, that feeling was still vivid. In addition, that moment was continuously repeating inside his head.

I really kissed Cha Jeongwon’s cheek.

After that, he stuck a dart into the balloon harboring the best prize. Good fortune turned to look at them.

Even amid the rush of skepticism after coming to his senses, 1st place was an unchangeable fact.
