Don't You Need an Omega Lucky Charm - Chapter 27.1
Since he was originally a person of few words, it was probably because of that.
Even when they passed through the hotel lobby and arrived at the entrance of the restaurant, the situation had not changed.
Beyond the thick glass doors, soft lighting leaked out. Tables covered in white tablecloths, sparkling water glasses, and neatly arranged silver flatware were visible. Even in the midst of that, Ha-on was anxious, utterly unable to control his pheromones.
A staff member approached and greeted them with a practiced smile.
“Hello. Please follow me.”
While being guided to their table, Ha-on stood sticking closely beside Cha Jeongwon and whispered.
“If my pheromones bother you, tell me anytime.”
Cha Jeongwon stopped walking and looked at Ha-on.
“What do you mean?”
“It could be bothersome when eating, you know. It was comfortable because Hyeon-gyu couldn’t feel them, but I figured it wouldn’t be the same for someone who isn’t a Beta.”
For some reason, Cha Jeongwon merely stared in silence. Ha-on somehow felt like he was making excuses.
“I mean, almost everyone around me is a Beta. Although I don’t know about our youngest member yet, everyone else is a Beta, and Hyeon-gyu is a Beta too.”
Without any answer, Cha Jeongwon just continued staring only at Ha-on’s face.
Feeling stifled, Ha-on wanted to ask if he had done something wrong.
“I’ll say the same to you. If my pheromones bother you, tell me anytime.”
“Pardon? No. I’ve never been bothered by them, though…”
Ha-on understood the meaning behind Cha Jeongwon’s words.
When in fact he himself had never thought Cha Jeongwon’s pheromones were bothersome either, he had worried about something unnecessary.
Losing his tension completely, Ha-on was led along by Cha Jeongwon once more. Even in the midst of that, Cha Jeongwon did not let go of his hand.
To other people’s eyes, they probably looked like a pair sticking together as if it were natural.
By the window side, a seat overlooking the city night view was prepared. The pure white round table and the lights of the city moving in lines beyond the glass window were like a painting.
When the staff pulled out a chair, Cha Jeongwon sat down first.
Staring blankly, Ha-on felt a strange sensation.
What is this? Like, what is this supposed to be.
Then he realized.
Even while sitting down in the chair, Cha Jeongwon had not let go of Ha-on’s hand.
Ha-on shook the hand caught by him.
“I need to sit down too.”
“Sit.”
“You have to let go of my hand for me to sit.”
Even when spoken to directly, Cha Jeongwon did not let go of Ha-on. Unable to watch any longer, the staff brought the chair that was on the opposite side over to Cha Jeongwon’s side.
“Please sit.”
Ha-on sat in the seat with an awkward face. On this huge round table, it ended up looking like the two of them were sitting squeezed tightly right next to each other.
“Is this really okay?”
“If you get farther away, the pheromones get farther away too.”
At Cha Jeongwon’s answer, Ha-on’s eyes opened roundly.
“You’re going to eat while smelling my pheromones?”
“That’s obvious.”
Cha Jeongwon replied without any change in expression. It was an attitude that felt thoroughly natural.
“To us, pheromones are no different from air. So is there any need to consciously mind them?”
Ha-on looked at Cha Jeongwon with a quite surprised face. His words sounded quite plausible, and his own mood listening to those words wasn’t bad either.
“Why did a person like that scowl so much every time an Omega was mentioned?”
It wasn’t spoken with the intent to attack Cha Jeongwon. He had just muttered it directly as it came to mind. Of course, it wasn’t completely devoid of an intention to tease.
“Back then it was an Omega with ulterior motives, and now it’s not.”
“Then what kind of Omega am I? An Omega you are dating? Or an Omega you can smother in pheromones to your heart’s content?”
Since they were in a relationship even if for a short while, Ha-on asked with a slightly lighter heart. Thinking he could accept whatever answer came with a smile…
“A pretty Omega.”
At that answer, Ha-on couldn’t laugh. Just now, his fingers curled up in embarrassment.
“Let’s just say it was my mistake for lowering my guard.”
Ha-on quietly drank water next to Cha Jeongwon.
“Shall I prepare the pre-dinner wine first?”
“Go ahead.”
Cha Jeongwon answered the staff and then handed the menu to Ha-on.
Thinking he was asking him to pick what he wanted to eat, just as Ha-on was about to reach out his hand…
“Course A is the best.”
“I haven’t even looked at it yet.”
“Trust me and try it.”
“…Okay.”
Trusting Cha Jeongwon. Though there was a moment of hesitation, he didn’t refuse.
He’s unexpectedly active.
Not just when holding hands and walking over, but he hadn’t expected him to act like a lover like this.
Was it because he was discovering unexpected sides of him? The time spent together with him was gradually becoming comfortable.
“Don’t serve them in sequence, please bring them out all at once.”
Even while formal words were exchanged between the waiter and Cha Jeongwon, the distance between Ha-on and Cha Jeongwon was becoming much closer than before. Their thighs almost touched, and their elbows grazed lightly now and then.
