Cha Jeongwon’s broad hand was laid over the back of Ha-on’s hand, which was resting naturally on the table. It was also a seat where they couldn’t avoid the eyes of other guests seated all around.

From their overlapped hands, a curiously hot body temperature rose up. It was a feeling like heat was seeping along his skin into the inside of his arm.

In addition, Cha Jeongwon’s distinct, heavy pheromones heightened in density within the air. The calm atmosphere unique to the hotel restaurant made that scent feel rather vivid instead.

Ah, crazy. Today is real love mode.

Inside his head it was a mess, but Ha-on tried to maintain an expression as serene as possible. If his expression shook even a little, it felt like his own pheromones would helplessly explode regardless of the place.

The pre-dinner bread came out first.

The outside looked slightly crispy and the inside soft.

After that, a salad with lovely colors was laid out, and following that, the main steak was placed on the table while exuding a subtle aroma.

The problem was Ha-on’s right hand. Cha Jeongwon seemed to have no intention of letting go of his hand.

“Senior.”

Ha-on muttered with an expression as if in a bind.

“If you do this… how do I eat?”

“You have your left hand.”

It was an answer so flat it was bland. On top of that, even if Ha-on said it was uncomfortable, he seemed to have no intention of withdrawing his hand.

“This isn’t revenge, is it?”

Ha-on spilled a laugh as if swallowing a sigh.

“Are you returning the favor like this because I wrapped your hand in bandages?”

“It was uncomfortable, indeed.”

Not losing a single word.

Ha-on tried lifting the fork with his left hand, then looked back at Cha Jeongwon again. Facing him from the side, Cha Jeongwon’s face was much closer than expected.

Perhaps thanks to the lighting shining from above, his eyelashes cast a slight shadow beneath his eyes. His jawline fell neatly, and near his neckline, the scent of an Alpha came through a bit more thickly.

As that scent grazed the tip of his nose, his insides tickled. To think this person is my lover…

Even though it was an affair he brought upon himself, should he say it lacked a sense of reality?

Perhaps because of that, a single thought popped up impulsively.

We’re dating.

Then doing at least this much was fine, no, Ha-on thought he ought to do it.

Ha-on quietly put down the fork.

Instead, he turned his body slightly toward Cha Jeongwon’s side and sat.

Ha-on let out a breath once.

And then, with his head tilted slightly, he parted only his lips into a round shape toward Cha Jeongwon.

“Ah.”

The sound was small, but the mouth shape was far too obvious.

To anyone watching, it was a shape asking to be fed.

At that moment, the air between the tables wavered strangely. It wasn’t that someone nearby burst into laughter, but it felt as if only the two of them had entered inside a thin bubble.

Cha Jeongwon’s pheromones spiked instantaneously and then settled down. The scent that comes out when surprised, amid being flustered and bewildered, a very faint feeling of excitement could be felt.

“You said we’re dating.”

His gaze headed toward the corner of Ha-on’s lips instead of the plate.

“I didn’t say we’d go this far, though.”

While saying so, he seemed to have no intention of letting go of Ha-on’s hand until the end.

Over their overlapped hands, Cha Jeongwon’s fingers moved very minutely. The moment he lightly stroked down the back of Ha-on’s hand and grabbed it again, it felt as if a shallow electric current flowed behind his neck.

“What do I do then, since you won’t let go of my hand? Take responsibility.”

“…Really.”

Cha Jeongwon muttered softly.

The sound of clicking his tongue once could be heard. It sounded like a scoff, but in that moment the end trembled slightly.

Ha-on looked up with wide eyes. His mouth remained parted just as it was.

The tip of his nose was still filled with the scent of an Alpha. The scent seeping in at a close distance felt like it was fogging up even the inside of his head.

“Are you not going to feed me?”

A slight smile grazed the end of his words. A sense of déjà vu, like cutting out a piece of a romantic comedy movie, rushed in. It felt as if the lighting shone just a bit brighter over only the two of them.

Their hands were overlapping, and the air grew heated. Now, all that remained was who would move first.

For a short duration, time seemed to stand still.

Ha-on kept his mouth parted while keeping only his eyes open clearly. The hotel lighting was embedded roundly in his pupils.

“…You’re really something.”

Cha Jeongwon spat out softly.

It was a voice that sounded as if chewing down an emotion, unsure of which side it belonged to.

After seeming to hold out for a moment, the fork was picked up in the end. After piercing a piece of steak and lightly dipping it in sauce, he slowly raised the fork. The direction was far too clear.

Toward Ha-on.

“I’m never doing this again.”

Line-drawing words came out of his mouth.

“This is the last time.”

Even while speaking as if scolding, Cha Jeongwon’s pheromones did not calm down.

They gradually grew darker and hotter.
