A relationship as lovers permitted far more things than expected. The moment he realized that fact, Ha-on already felt regretful over this ending.

I should have made it in one year.

Or maybe for—

***

By the time they left the restaurant, the sky had turned completely dark. Perhaps because of that, the hotel lobby lights felt richer and softer than during the day. Ha-on’s footsteps walking across the lobby gradually slowed down.

If they go outside like this?

Are we going home?

That would be way too disappointing, though.

He wondered how he could spend more time with Cha Jeongwon. Then, something suddenly crossed his mind, and he tugged on his hand.

“Senior.”

“What.”

“Shall we do the spa too?”

The prize won today wasn’t just dinner, after all. The Spa Day Pass.

“It just so happens my body is stiff and hard, and at times like this, nothing beats a spa, right?”

He spoke while intentionally craning his neck this way and that. However, it seemed a bit insufficient to convince Cha Jeongwon.

“Steeping your body in warm water is a must…”

“You’ll get wet.”

“That’s obvious, of course. Spas are originally meant for getting wet.”

Wondering if that was even a problem, Cha Jeongwon turned around and faced Ha-on directly.

What is this?

Cha Jeongwon’s gaze is deep and meaningful.

“The progress is way too fast from day one.”

“Ah, n-no. What are you saying, Senior? I didn’t think about anything like that at all. Not at all, I say.”

Ha-on hurriedly backed away from Cha Jeongwon, even consciously switching his title back to the formal one.

“Will you really be fine with it?”

At Cha Jeongwon’s words, Ha-on grimaced, and then belatedly froze all movement.

In an instant, he ended up imagining Cha Jeongwon soaked from head to toe.

The sight of hot water trickling down his forehead and jawline, the sight of his clothes clinging to his skin making his shoulder line even clearer. Drops of water running down his arm, forming once more on the back of his hand before falling to the floor.

If Alpha pheromones rose up from a body like that mixed with hot steam, wouldn’t it be far more dangerous than here?

Just imagining it made his heart feel as if it were dropping. Ha-on gulped down his dry saliva.

“That won’t do.”

This is far too dangerous.

In addition, his own mind, which had already ended up imagining it and had been tainted to the point of being unable to return to the beginning, was also in big trouble.

“Suite room.”

At the word Cha Jeongwon tossed out, Ha-on wetted his dry lips and raised his head.

“Go to the room instead of the spa.”

“Ah, shall we?”

At least in the room, they wouldn’t get wet.

Ha-on nodded his head, saying it was a good idea. Either way, it seemed he would need time to pull his senses together.

Watching Ha-on answer as if it were no big deal, Cha Jeongwon let out a very small dry laugh.

Taking the lead, he walked across the lobby toward the front desk. Thanks to still not letting go of his hand, it ended up looking like he was being dragged along.

Only then did Ha-on feel a strange sensation.

Describe the feelings of seeing your lover’s back as he walks over to reserve a hotel room on the first night after starting to date.

All kinds of weird thoughts even crossed his mind.

Only after standing in front of the desk did Cha Jeongwon let go of his hand. Ha-on fiddled with his own hand. Seeing the two of them, the staff member smiled.

“Welcome. How may I help you?”

Cha Jeongwon spoke point-blank.

“Suite room check-in, please.”

“I will help you with check-in after confirming.”

The staff member tapped the keyboard a few times and immediately looked up.

“Yes, it is available. May I have the name and contact number of the guest staying? How would you like to make the payment?”

At those words, Cha Jeongwon opened his wallet and pulled out a card. Ha-on hurriedly grabbed his hand.

“Are you going to pay money?”

“You’re asking an obvious question.”

“It’s not obvious at all.”

He couldn’t even imagine how much a suite room in this hotel would cost.

Ha-on quickly pulled out an envelope from his pocket. And after blocking Cha Jeongwon’s card, he proffered the envelope to the staff member.

The front desk clerk’s gaze shifted from the card to the envelope.

“Please process it with this lodging voucher.”

“Understood.”

The clerk obediently received the envelope. Ha-on turned back to look at Cha Jeongwon.

“We have a lodging voucher, don’t we?”

It was a voice that sounded slightly excited.

To think he would end up using the lodging voucher now, which he had intended to save for when to use later. Ha-on’s heart felt like it was beating even faster.

While the staff member checked the details of the voucher, Cha Jeongwon furrowed his brows beside him.

“That was given for you to use.”

It was a quiet yet clear voice.

Somehow, it almost sounded as if he felt it was a waste.

At those words, Ha-on blinked his eyes as if slightly flabbergasted.

“That’s why I’m using it.”

A bit of laughter was laced at the end of his words.

“Who else would I use it with if not my lover?”
