Don't You Need an Omega Lucky Charm - Chapter 3.1
Wow, he’s huge…’
As Cha Jeongwon stood up, he looked even more overwhelming. No wonder the emergency room bed seemed short for him. He looked to be easily 190 centimeters tall.
By contrast, Haon was of an average height that fit the hospital bed perfectly. It was a cruel comparison.
“Do you have anything else to say?”
“No. Nothing comes to mind right now.”
At Haon’s response, confident yet somehow not, Cha Jeongwon seemed to think for a moment before replying lightly.
“Right. Good call.”
He then stood up first and walked past Haon.
Watching Cha Jeongwon’s back recede, Haon tilted his head.
It was a relief that he was stepping away on his own. It was a relief, but…
“What is this uncomfortable feeling?”
Wasn’t that tone basically saying, ‘I thought you were going to cling to me using this accident as an excuse, but it’s great that you’re backing off on your own’? Or was this just his own inferiority complex?
Going their separate ways was exactly what he wanted, but somehow it left a bad taste in his mouth.
“Let’s look on the bright side. No need to be sensitive.”
If they parted ways safely like this, he intended to return to his original daily life as if they had never met again.
Haon waved his arm toward the nurse.
“I’m done with my IV.”
“Just a moment. I’ll take it out for you right away.”
It was just as the nurse nodded and approached Haon.
Suddenly, the IV pole next to the adjacent bed fell over.
Haon turned his head in surprise. As he watched the stand fall directly onto the bed he had been lying on, the nurse hurried over and muttered.
“How strange today is. Why is this falling over too?”
Right? I’d like to ask that too.
It was strange, but brushing it off as nothing major, he rummaged through his clothes. At first, it was just a light check of his pockets, but soon he was blatantly searching all over himself.
“My wallet… is gone.”
What’s more, he didn’t have his phone either. Come to think of it, he had been brought here while unconscious, so he didn’t have a single personal belonging on him. Suddenly, he remembered his bag flying far away as he rolled down the stairs.
“Excuse me, did a phone or a bag happen to come with me when I was brought here?”
“Well… I’m not really sure about that either…”
Anxious, he asked the nurse beside him, but predictably, she shook her head.
Haon’s gaze naturally pinned itself onto Cha Jeongwon’s back.

“It’s a wrist sprain. Fortunately, the rest are just minor bruises, so there are no major injuries.”
The doctor said while examining Cha Jeongwon’s wrist back and forth.
“Don’t overexert yourself for the time being. Don’t lift heavy objects either.”
“It doesn’t matter.”
Cha Jeongwon cut in cold fashion.
The doctor put on a troubled expression.
“Still, if you push yourself…”
“I said I’m fine.”
“…Understood.”
The doctor said no more.
Haon clicked his tongue inwardly. Cha Jeongwon looked like he was going to ignore the doctor’s orders completely.
Given his major, he would have plenty of work that required using his wrists. Sheesh.
‘He’s so stubborn.’
That was also why he was an even harder person to be around.
Haon even shook his head side to side, but as soon as Cha Jeongwon turned around, he reflexively flashed a smile.
Cha Jeongwon furrowed his brows. A look of annoyance was blatantly written on his face. He seemed thoroughly displeased that Haon, who he thought wouldn’t cling to him, had come to his side pretending to be a guardian.
However, Haon couldn’t help it either.
‘What am I supposed to do when I have nothing on me?’
Honestly, contacting someone he knew was better than relying on that man he was seeing for the first time. Yet, no matter how much he racked his brain, nothing came to mind.
‘No matter how dependent on phones the world is, how can I not remember a single number? Did I hit my head when I rolled down the stairs?’
He couldn’t even remember the number of the friend he always hung out with. As if by magic, his mind had gone completely blank.
Even so, contacting family is… I hate that idea.’
Haon had his own reasons. He needlessly stroked the back of his head, which didn’t have a single scratch.
Amidst all this, the fact that Cha Jeongwon’s family hadn’t come either gave him a strange sense of kinship.
“Is there anywhere uncomfortable?”
With Cha Jeongwon staring intently, the doctor looked at Haon as well and asked.
“Ah. I was wondering if I injured my head earlier.”
“It’s a light concussion, but if you feel uncomfortable later on, please visit again.”
At the doctor’s gaze, which seemed to say ‘didn’t we already examine everything?’ Haon cleared his throat and turned his head away.
The doctor took hold of Cha Jeongwon’s wrist once more and changed his conclusion.
“It would be better to immobilize it after all. Even if it’s not a full cast, a stabilizing bandage or a brace should do. Usually, one to two weeks is enough.”
“Not needed.”
Cha Jeongwon cut him off immediately.
Without letting go of the wrist, the doctor added.
“When you reflexively grab onto something tightly while falling, the wrist bends first. The gripping force is strong, but when the body rolls over, the wrist can’t handle it. That happens a lot when wrapping around to protect someone, but just because you say it’s not needed doesn’t mean your wrist will heal on its own.”
