Don't You Need an Omega Lucky Charm - Chapter 6.2
And the moment he picked up his phone, something in the corner of the floor caught his eye.
“What’s that?”
Because the floor was dark and only a tiny tip was visible, it was hard to identify what kind of object it was. Haon hesitated for a moment before reaching out his hand.
Perhaps because it was deep under the chair, his fingertips barely missed it. He could have just ignored it, but perhaps because of everything that had happened lately, he felt a stubborn urge.
Haon ended up bending down under the table.
After pushing his bag aside because it was in the way, he also pushed the table slightly.
Pulling it out by its very edge, he saw that it was a flat leather wallet.
“Wait, who left a wallet here?”
Did someone as unlucky as him come and go from here?
At that moment, a shadow fell over the table.
Maybe because he was crouching on the floor, the sound of footsteps felt unusually close. Haon prayed that the presence would just pass him by.
‘Seeing that they put a bag on the chair, they’ll probably go to another table.’
Unfortunately, however, that presence approached right in front of Haon. The sensation of footsteps coming to a halt was so close that Haon froze completely.
He raised his gaze, which had been cast down at the floor, just a little.
The hems of the pants and sneakers were the first things he saw.
And seeping in between them… Pheromones?
Haon slowly raised his head.
The first thing that came into his field of vision was a pair of long, shapely legs. Of all places, he was standing right in front of the table Haon was curled up under.
If he took just one step closer, his crotch would literally become Haon’s exit route.
‘No, why here of all places, right now?’
He didn’t even have time to blame today’s horoscope.
“Yoon Haon.”
Cha Jeongwon’s voice drifted down.
He called out while knowing with total certainty that Haon was under the table. It felt as if a very dry voice lightly tapped his ear.
Haon froze while still holding the wallet. Excuses immediately rushed to his mind.
All sorts of thoughts crossed his mind, but for now, it seemed like staying under the table any longer would only make things weirder. In the end, Haon swallowed a breath and moved his body forward.
His knees touched the floor first. Because the posture was awkward, he had to support himself on the floor with his hands as well. He had barely taken one step out from under the table.
The problem was the timing.
The moment Haon pulled his body out, his head brushed past the inside of Cha Jeongwon’s thigh. Even though it was a mere fraction of a second, the pheromones rushed in thickly once more, making the back of Haon’s neck feel hot.
He reflexively averted his gaze, but it was already too late. Cha Jeongwon’s gaze, looking down from above, was fixed on that exact scene as if it were preserved in place.
“Wallet.”
Cha Jeongwon said briefly. His gaze fell to Haon’s hand.
Haon quickly held out the wallet.
“Ah, this. I picked it up because it was lying on the floor. I accidentally found it while my phone fell, so together… Really.”
Cha Jeongwon’s eyebrows rose ever so slightly. Suspicion quickly took shape.
“Did I ever ask you for such a favor?”
“What favor?”
“Approaching me.”
Haon was so aggrieved that his mouth gaped open first.
“No, who approaches someone like this? I have two legs. I’m not a four-legged beast.”
“Well, right now in my eyes, you look like a beast.”
Haon pointed at his own face.
“You think I did this on purpose?”
Bursting with frustrating unfairness, Haon sprang right up.
“Ouch!”
The crown of his head slammed directly into the underside of the table. The sound was louder than expected, so the people at the neighboring tables turned their heads once more.
Haon clutched his head with both hands, slumped down, and clenched his teeth.
“Argh…”
It was hard to suppress his groans. Cha Jeongwon let out a sigh a beat later.
“Stay still.”
Bending down at the waist, he pulled Haon out by the wrist with his uninjured hand. That solid grip instantly straightened Haon’s body up. At close range, their pheromones collided once again.
Haon’s eyes grew wide, and his lips merely fluttered. He had to say something, anything.
However, the only words that managed to come out were utterly pitiful.
“I really didn’t mean to do that.”
“I know.”
At those words, Haon felt even more aggrieved for some reason, so while nodding his head, he only grumbled on the inside.
‘What do you know?’
