“What did they say?”
Haon pretended it was heavy as he moved his arm away, subtly pushing him to say his next words.
“What do you mean, ‘what did they say’? They said Cha Jeongwon just acted like Cha Jeongwon.”
“What’s that supposed to mean? Is his name some kind of proper noun?”
Did everyone already know that Cha Jeongwon had bad luck? Then he couldn’t really say this was knowledge gained from recalling the original novel.
It meant there was zero advantage to it.
“They said he was handsome even when he passed out.”
“…What about me when I passed out?”
It was a relief that Cha Jeongwon’s bad luck wasn’t mentioned, but somehow he didn’t feel good about it.
“Want me to tell you?”
Kim Hyeongyu shrugged his shoulders as if he would gladly tell him anything.
“You were clinging tightly to the senior when you fainted, and you just wouldn’t let go of his clothes. So your face was squished against his chest like this…”
“Don’t say another word. Yesterday simply doesn’t exist in my life anymore. Starting today, I am going to make a fresh start.”
He didn’t want to hear any more. Seeing his chance, Kim Hyeongyu approached with a playful expression.
This was his exact face when he was fully intent on teasing.
“Don’t do anything.”
“Why? You asked me to worry about you.”
“Does that look like the face of someone worrying?”
Haon sighed at Kim Hyeongyu’s spiteful smile.
“Let’s have you go to the emergency room today. I’ll take care of you, so don’t worry about anything else.”
As Haon approached while contemplating which of Kim Hyeongyu’s four limbs to break, he hurriedly backed away.
“Wait a second, wait a second! Did you contact your family?”
Haon answered nonchalantly, as if he were being asked something obvious.
“Of course not.”
He might grab Cha Jeongwon’s clothes, but he had zero intention of contacting his family.
“Even so, shouldn’t you have contacted them?”
“Forget it. Everyone is busy, and I don’t want to cause unnecessary worry.”
Haon’s brow furrowed. Mentioning family seemed to make him quite uncomfortable.
It wasn’t because they had a bad relationship. It was just that there were so many family members that it was hard to get proper care, and even if he did, it was obvious Haon would end up worrying more about them later, so he chose to shut them out completely.
“I’m going to hold back as much as possible until I graduate. No news is good news.”
“Hmm. I’m sure you’ll handle it on your own. Enough about this. There’s someone I want to introduce to you today, you know?”
Reading the room, Kim Hyeongyu changed the subject. Haon waved his hand as if it were a hassle.
“What kind of introduction all of a sudden…”
“Don’t be like that, come over here.”
In the end, Haon was dragged to a completely unexpected place instead of the lecture hall.
The place the two arrived at was an on-campus cafe. At the fragrant scent of coffee, Haon’s expression instantly relaxed.
“While I buy coffee, if that person comes looking for you, greet them warmly. Well, even if I don’t say anything, you’ll end up greeting them warmly anyway.”
“Who on earth is it that I’d greet warmly… Wait. Could it be someone who can help with graduation this time?”
Rather than answering, Kim Hyeongyu walked off without listening to the rest of Haon’s words. It was blatantly obvious that this was an intentional setup.
No wonder he was rushing to leave so early. He had no idea who Kim Hyeongyu was planning to introduce.
“By the way, does that person even know what my face looks like?”
Did he hand over my picture or something? Expecting me to greet them without even telling me who it is. Seriously, where do people get off acting so unreasonable?
He couldn’t understand why Kim Hyeongyu was acting like this, but Haon decided not to care. Whoever it was, he figured they would find him just fine on their own.
Haon shook his head, and since his shoulders were stiff, he tapped them lightly with his fist.
“When is this muscle soreness going to get better?”
He had no major injuries, yet groans kept slipping out.
Thumping his shoulder like that, he walked with weak steps toward the area where the tables were gathered. He dropped his hips onto a roughly empty seat.
Thumping his shoulder once more, he picked up his phone. Just as he was about to check the pop-up to see if any notifications had arrived:
His finger slipped, and the phone dropped onto the underside of the table with a thud.
“Ah…”
‘No.’
Looking at the phone flipped upside down on the floor, his lips merely quivered.
It would be a disaster if the screen cracked.
“Ah, seriously. Nothing goes right.”
Among all the things he had experienced recently, this was the most horrifying and terrifying moment to check.
Still, he couldn’t just leave it there, so Haon slowly bent his body down.
