The male lead, Acteon, is an illegitimate child from the family that has produced the greatest number of Transcendents in this country. Because of an incident in his childhood, he grows up suffering from a terrible trauma.

With the unstable disposition of a Transcendent and his trauma, he lives a life as barren as a drop of water falling on a wasteland, gradually losing his mind. Then, when he becomes fixated on the female lead, S-Class Guide Millia, he engages in intense acts under the guise of ‘guiding’…

That was the plot of 『Taming the Calamity-Class Transcendents』.

If only it had started and ended simply as a romance, that would have been nice, but like most romance fantasy novels, this one also has a hidden mastermind and a villain.

‘And it’s my younger brother? Damn it.’

The villain, who loses his only family, tries to kill the female lead by intentionally provoking a rampage from the Transcendent male lead, but, fitting for a villain, ends up dying miserably.

Damn it, no matter how hopeless my brother was, dying is a bit much.

I know that my death has a big impact on the original story, but is that really important right now?

It was only natural that my complexion was pale, after recalling all this.

“Lippey, are you alright?”

Guides are valuable personnel.

Maybe worried that something might have happened to my body during the guiding, the supervising professor asked.

“Ah, I’m fine. All I did was hold hands, really.”

“Well, that’s good to hear… Didier, since you’re alright too, you can go now.”

Snapping back to my senses at the professor’s words, I exchanged glances with my fellow student, Didier, who had just been confirmed as C-Class, and saw him off.

And I felt relieved.

‘Ha, if I hadn’t remembered all this, I really would have just died…’

Is it because in the original story, Liliope died from being unable to handle Acteon’s second manifestation?

‘To suddenly recall these memories right in the middle of guiding my classmate’s second manifestation…’

It felt strangely unsettling, but at the same time, I was glad I’d come to know my future under such similar circumstances.

‘I would’ve just dropped dead, trying to handle Acteon’s power without knowing anything.’

The confusion lasted only a moment. As the whirlwind of memories from my previous life and my life as Liliope completely merged, I actually became much calmer.

Though my mental strength was spent and I felt exhausted, I managed a bitter smile and tried to think positively. I was lucky to find out now, at least.

‘As the head of the family, there’s no way I can die and leave behind my cunning but lovable younger brother.’

As I let out a quiet sigh, the supervising professor, after checking my condition, finally gave me permission to leave.

“If you have any aftereffects, even if they show up late, come see me immediately.”

“Yes, I will.”

“There are far fewer Guides compared to Transcendents, so don’t forget—your body isn’t yours alone.”

And besides, you’re a B-Class.

Suppressing a laugh at the professor’s additional comment, I thought, No matter how much this world treats even minors as potential weapons, isn’t that a bit too blunt?

Even if the nation’s power depends on how many high-ranking Transcendents it has, the faint hope that there might one day be a human rights movement bubbling up inside me proved I really was a modern person who’d been tragically possessed.

Having been given permission to leave, and with the professors and researchers busy talking among themselves, I was about to turn to go when, as if putting me through dog training, the professor stopped me again.

“Lippey! Before you go, make sure to record your guiding.”

“Oh, right. I forgot.”

When I held out my hand, the date and time of my guiding were recorded on the control stone bracelet that proved my status as a cadet.

“Alright. Now you can really go rest. You’ve probably expended a lot of stamina, so don’t overdo it.”

“Thank you for your concern. Then, I’ll get going.”

After offering the customary greeting that was ingrained in me, I stepped outside and immediately quickened my pace.

‘What should I… change first?’

My mind was spinning at full speed, caught off guard by this unexpected situation.

The original story? Who cares. I’m about to die.

Trauma? The male lead doesn’t need trauma. Being healthy is always better.

Luckily, there’s still about half a year left before he enters the academy.

That means there’s enough time to take care of plenty of things. As I hurried along, I quickly decided on a few goals.

First, bring my younger brother here.

Second, find our female lead and make sure she establishes a connection with Acteon in advance.

Third, on the day of the entrance ceremony six months from now, make sure it’s not me but the lovely S-Class Guide, Millia, who guides Acteon.

That way, there’s no reason for me to die, and no reason for Acteon to be plagued by even worse trauma.

So, the first thing I did upon entering the main building was—

“Excuse me, I’ll be heading home for a while.”
