A strong toxin invaded my body.

Health, Agility, and Strength are decreasing.

Health, Agility, and Strength stop decreasing.

The strong toxin resolves the “abnormal status.”

Stats (update):

Health 78 (Unlimited Potential)

Agility 74 (Unlimited Potential)

Strength 49 (Unlimited Potential)

……

This was too much, really……

I drank the same antidote, yet for some, their health plummeted to zero and triggered abnormal status, while for others it stopped immediately and even removed any existing abnormal status. Well, it’s fortunate that Constantine recovered, but—being weaker than a five-year-old? That’s just too unfair.

You cannot compare the protagonist of the ‘story,’ Constantine, to you.

It’s far too unfair to Constantine!

“……”

I had no energy left to argue with that irritating System. I hung limply in Tristan’s arms, barely managing shallow breaths. Seeing how serious my condition seemed, the nanny added her voice once again.

“Your Grace, the Consort is trying to harm the young master even at the cost of his own life! Please punish him severely!”

“Nanny, I’m fine……”

I could hear Constantine’s confused voice in my ears. The nanny, the knights, and Butler Wilhelm all seemed flustered, unsure of what to do.

Meanwhile, I felt like I was dying. Poison churned in my stomach and seemed to rise through my throat. Every inhale tightened my chest, and my whole body felt twisted. Cold sweat streamed down my face, stinging my eyes and blurring my vision.

“Consort, pull yourself together. Ruellin!”

Tristan’s urgent voice calling my name grew distant. My last thread of consciousness flickered, about to snap.

Event name verification complete.

☆ Let’s Resolve the Heat Cycle! ☆ Event triggered!

Due to the ingestion of a lethal poison for Omegas, you are forcibly entering a heat cycle.

Find the Heat Cycle Suppression Herb to resolve the “abnormal status.”

What…… what?

With that absurd System comment, darkness swallowed my vision, and I lost consciousness.

❖ ❖ ❖

Red heat surged before my eyes. Flames seemed to burn across my skin, spreading through my entire body. My mind felt as if it was burning pure white.

Beyond my hazy consciousness, I heard the sound of moisture dripping. A damp towel brushed against my forehead. I felt a large hand gently caress my cheek. I struggled to lift my heavy eyelids.

Tristan was looking down at me with an unreadable expression.

“There was no need for that, Consort.”

His deep, low voice landed heavily in my ears.

“It is an antidote, but the toxicity of the corpse flower is strong. Unless one has strong health, it could be dangerous. The physician said that for someone as weak as you, this antidote could act more like a poison. You……”

Tristan paused for a moment, his brow furrowed deeply. Then, as if deciding, he spoke.

“Even if you had not willingly drunk it, I would have trusted you. I promised that much.”

“……”

Even if Tristan trusted me, the attendants would not have accepted it. But I had no strength even to move my lips. I closed my eyes weakly, and a faint voice continued, barely audible.

“…You should not have taken the medicine.”

There was a trace of reproach in that tone, hiding a deep sense of self-blame. But that did not matter.

The moment the soft voice reached me, my heart began pounding somewhere deep within my chest.

[☆ Resolving the Heat Cycle! ☆ Event in progress]

Find the Heat Cycle Suppression Herb to resolve the “abnormal status.”

Herb locations: Grand Ducal Cemetery, Grand Ducal Castle Kitchen, Grand Ducal Castle Medicine Room

What is this……

Even now, the System urged me to complete the event. Did it really think I could search for a herb in this state? With my body so stirred, I barely managed to lift myself halfway.

“Ah…… huh, ugh……!”

A strong citrus scent brushed past my nose.
