I picked up a glass and examined it carefully.

“It is still in various stages of trial and not ready for sale, but soon we will be able to produce goods suitable for trade with the Northern Continent, Your Grand Consort.”

“Even now, it is excellent. All that remains is to establish a system for mass production.”

“Oh, no, it is far from that. We are planning even lighter and thinner glass products, more delicate and elegant. Please wait just a little longer, hehe.”

“Take your time. There is no need to rush. Once this voyage begins, we will not return for several months anyway.”

I smiled reassuringly, and the craftsman’s wrinkled face also carried a faint smile. Walking through the workshop like that, I felt certain. I leaned close to Tristan and whispered softly in his ear.

“It seems the day will come soon when we can sell Hezekia’s glassware in Kalhaven, does it not?”

“That appears to be the case.”

It was a brief answer, but his voice carried genuine pleasure. I felt reassured despite some anxiety about the long journey ahead.

However, the warm atmosphere was interrupted suddenly. The System’s message flashed in front of me.

[☆Tristan’s Wish Fulfillment: Let’s develop glass craftsmanship in the Hezekia territory!☆ Event in progress]

Hurry and complete the event to repay the event reward you left on credit (Check original, 500 characters).

“…….”

I could not flee or ignore it, yet it still demanded repayment. There was so much to do, so many places to go, and now a creditor chasing after me for repayment. Life was indeed difficult.

Even while we stayed in the territory, the three large ships were steadily provisioned under the supervision of Midred, who was in charge of the entire fleet’s administration. After such busy preparations, the day of departure finally arrived.

As the anchor was lifted, the bows of the new ships simultaneously moved away from the dock and left the harbor. Soon, the chief navigator’s vigorous orders rang out.

“Raise the sails! Full speed ahead!”

“Full speed ahead!”

“Full speed ahead!”

The sails filled fully with wind, taut and strong, pushing the fleet forward smoothly.

A week had passed since the start of the voyage.

The vast, endless sea stretched as far as the eye could see. The fleet continued quietly westward. Yet by the third week, as the direction had not changed, some unrest began among the sailors.

“Steer south.”

Tristan, checking the maps, the chronometer, and the sextant repeatedly, finally spoke. The fleet began to turn south to form a large semicircular route, tracing a C-shape across the sea.

Another week passed like ten months.

We had been fortunate to avoid storms or unusual weather, but perhaps for that reason, the days felt exceptionally monotonous. I watched the waves breaking along the ship’s side and muttered to myself, then flinched in surprise at my own words.

‘A spoiled complaint. We just need to arrive safely.’

I wished only for the voyage to continue uneventfully, however tedious it might be.

As the clear weather persisted, Gehardt called the sailors to clean the deck. On a ship spotless from the start, a sudden big cleaning seemed unnecessary. He claimed it was to maintain discipline and focus, but it appeared more like a way to pass the time.

“Grand Consort…… When will we arrive……?”

“Just ten more nights.”

“Lies! You said the same thing ten nights ago!”

“Your Highness, can you even count to ten?”

“I am not a child!”

You are a child……

I coaxed the whining little one, Constantine, onto my lap. Looking after a child was not as easy as it seemed.

As I absentmindedly braided his hair, wondering what else we could do for amusement, Tristan once again ordered a change in course. The C-shaped route was entering its final stage, and finally the bow was turned east.

With the prevailing westerlies at our backs, the fleet cut through the water at a speed far faster than before. If we continued for another week, or at most three, the western coast of the Eastern Continent would appear.

From there, following the coast eastward for a few more days would finally bring us to Ashurana, the capital of the Sarr Empire.
