In the current situation, it might have been the best option. However, if we retreated now, Hezekia would have no next chance.

“Full speed ahead!”

The sailors quickly moved to follow the command. The flagship caught the wind and accelerated, surging across the open sea. Several pirate ships hastily began their pursuit. The enemy flagship, flying the red flag, led the way, cutting through the waves.

At that moment, Tristan suddenly raised his arm and brought it down sharply through the air.

Gehardt, recognizing the signal, shouted at the top of his lungs.

“Change direction! Execute a rapid turn!”

What…?

Startled by the unexpected order, the flagship tilted precariously and sharply turned its bow. The rough waves slammed against the ship’s side, breaking into white spray. Tristan’s eyes shone a vivid blue.

Finally, Tristan raised his arm, pointing at the pirate flagship waving the red flag, and shouted.

“Ram at full speed! Hit the enemy flagship head-on!”

As soon as the order was given, the flagship charged fiercely at the enemy ship. Before anyone could react, the two ships collided with a thunderous roar.

Kwa Kwa Kwa Kwang!

The entire hull vibrated as a tremendous impact was transmitted through the ship. I clung to the railing, desperately bracing myself. The collision was severe, but fortunately, the heavy armor we had reinforced on the sides of the flagship absorbed the impact, leaving our ship seemingly unscathed.

The enemy, however, was not so fortunate.

Amid the chaos, the enemy flagship struggled to withstand the collision and tilted dangerously. It did not last long before its bow shattered and it began sinking headfirst into the sea.

“Uh…?”

Glowing text appeared before my eyes.

[Congratulations! One enemy ship has been sunk]

Battle status: Black Skull Pirate Fleet flagship sunk, irrecoverable (1/17)

I muttered in disbelief.

“D-Does that mean it’s over? The flagship should have had the commander aboard, right?”

However, the number (1/17) next to “irrecoverable” lingered oddly in my mind. Sure enough, another status window appeared, breaking my relief.

Battle status: Enemy fleet flagship changed

“…….”

Just like that, they replaced it easily? They didn’t even rescue the commander? He must be struggling somewhere in that sea of fire.

Yet the pirates did not attempt to recover the commander. Another ship in the enemy fleet had already raised a red flag. I suddenly recalled the text I had seen in the status window before the battle began.

Weakness: Diversified command structure (can function as an advantage).

“Ah, damn it…….”

My head throbbed. Despite the satisfaction of sinking the flagship, it seemed the new flagship had already begun issuing commands rapidly. On the decks of the surrounding pirate ships, armed pirates brandished hooks and glared menacingly.

“All hands, prepare for boarding! They are trying to latch onto our ship!”

The urgent voice of Sir Johannes rang out. At that moment, hooks flew from the side of the pirate ships tightly lined up against our fleet. The hooks caught the sides of our ships. The boarding for close combat had already begun.

The Hezekia fleet, honed through years of mercenary experience, had the combat ability of one against a hundred. However, the overwhelming number of enemy ships far surpassed us.

Pirates near the Rubinia Empire usually staffed their oars with slaves. According to the status window, these pirates had all oarsmen as fully armed combatants. One ship alone surpassed our entire combat strength, and there were sixteen such ships. Our fleet was significantly smaller and lacked even oarsmen.

This meant we could not withstand close-quarters combat. A suffocating sense of fear swept over me. I had no idea how we could possibly manage.

Despite this, the sailors prepared desperately to resist. At that moment, Tristan, calmly observing the situation, spoke in a low voice.

“It seems this is the critical moment.”

“Y-Yes… yes?”

I snapped out of my daze, realizing the weight of his words. Tristan was finally about to use the Flame of Hezekia.
