“Noah!”

Noah ruffled the hair of Aiden, who was stomping his feet like he was dying of annoyance, and let out a small laugh.

“Just get on.”

“This time I’m going to ride a horse like Carno.”

“Why?”

“Did you forget? My dream is to be a holy knight of the monastery.”

Aiden seemed to have pestered Carno relentlessly. Carno really was holding the reins of the horse Aiden would ride. Then he spoke to Aiden in a low voice, in a warning tone.

“Aiden, the mountains will be very different from circling the training ground.”

“Yes! Understood!”

Aiden looked at Carno handing him the reins and answered firmly with a very solemn expression. Noah looked at Aiden with a worried face and tried to get down from the carriage. But Tommy grabbed Noah’s shoulder.

“How long are you going to treat him like a child in your arms? Aiden is old enough to do things on his own now.”

“But Tommy…”

“Don’t worry. Everyone is clumsy at first.”

Even as Noah rode the carriage surrounded by knights down through the forest, he couldn’t close the window. He could only fret, worried that Aiden might fall off the horse. Tommy looked at Noah and let out a small laugh, incredulously.

Contrary to Noah’s worries, Aiden controlled the huge warhorse the holy knights rode remarkably well. Even Carno, who had been a little tense, patted Aiden on the shoulder as he passed, proudly.

“I think we’ve bought all the food now.”

“Now we have to move all this to the carriage, right?”

“Since we buy everything at once once a month, the merchants will bring the goods to where our carriage is.”

“That’s a relief.”

Noah, who had wandered all over the village buying the necessary groceries and supplies, let out a sigh of relief. Seeing Aiden watching the blacksmith making a sword in front of the smithy with great interest, he spoke to Tommy in a hushed voice.

“Um… Tommy.”

“What?”

“I’d like to buy some red potion for Johan and me.”

“Sure, Johan asked me anyway. But Noah, the red potion you bought last time hasn’t gone down much.”

“Ah… I think it’s because I’m recessive. My heat cycle comes only once or twice a year? And even then, I often don’t even notice it.”

“I see.”

Tommy nodded with his usual expression and pointed with his finger to where the apothecary was.

“The apothecary is in the next alley. Let’s go there. Anyway, Aiden, what is that kid doing now?”

“Just a moment. I’ll go get him.”

Noah quietly walked over and poked Aiden’s shoulder.

“What are you doing?”

“Look at the blacksmith’s fingertips. Sparks come out that could melt iron, it’s so cool.”

“Really? Aiden, can’t you handle fire a little too?”

Noah asked cautiously, recalling the image of Aiden, the emperor who had wielded fire freely in his past life. Then Aiden raised his hand and showed a small flame forming at the tip of his index finger.

“This much is fine for lighting a candle, right?”

In Noah’s memory of his previous life, Aiden had already perfectly awakened his fire ability at age eleven. But in this life, at fourteen, Aiden’s ability to control fire was worse than a blacksmith in some backwater corner.

“Should I consider this a good thing?”

“Huh? What did you say?”

Aiden raised his thumb toward the blacksmith, whose eyes he had met, as though to say he was the best.

“Nothing, never mind.”

Noah mumbled his words vaguely, took Aiden and went over to Tommy. Then Tommy immediately moved his steps toward the apothecary.

“There it is.”

But in front of the apothecary, the village thugs had gathered and were picking a fight with the shop owner for no reason. Tommy signaled to Noah and Aiden to stay put, then went into the shop. But the problem started from then. The thugs who had been picking a fight with the shop owner surrounded Noah, who couldn’t go inside and was standing awkwardly outside.

“Did you come from the monastery?”

“……”

Noah gave no answer and avoided them. But they blocked Noah’s path and picked a fight.

“You’re too pretty to be rotting away in a monastery.”
