I Became the Tyrant's Beloved Omega - Chapter 19.2
He could not grasp how much time had passed. The fever that had made his whole body feel like it was boiling subsided, and the indescribable, agonizing sensations also faded. For the past several weeks, when he could not hold his body steady and could not keep his senses, Aiden had thought of nothing but Noah.
But Noah never appeared before Aiden in the end. The more unbearably it hurt, the more the desperate longing for Noah in Aiden’s heart turned into deep resentment. As his body grew lighter and his mind clearer, his heart ached like it would tear apart.
‘Noah abandoned me.’
The moment he acknowledged the fact he had tried so hard to ignore, Aiden’s dark eyes grew wet. Aiden buried his face in the pillow and let out a sorrowful breath. Aiden, who had not moved a muscle for a long while, raised his body, flung the window wide open, and stepped out onto the terrace.
A well-kept garden spread wide beneath his feet, and birds soared splendidly into a blue sky brighter than ever. Even at such an astonishingly beautiful and splendid sight, Aiden’s gaze sank coldly.
“Your Highness, I am coming in.”
Just then, Mark, who had carefully opened the door, signaled the court physician to go inside. The court physician, having entered the room, spotted Aiden sitting on the terrace and approached him.
“Court physician.”
“Yes, please go ahead.”
“How long has it been since I fell ill?”
“It has been over three weeks.”
“And in that time, I manifested as an alpha?”
“That is correct. First, let me examine your body…”
“Enough. Go back.”
After becoming Crown Prince, Aiden received so much education that twenty-four hours a day was not enough. Among those many lessons was sex education for the Crown Prince. It was only then that Aiden came to understand the meaning of alpha and omega. Aiden let out a sigh.
“B-but…”
“I said go back.”
The court physician was momentarily overwhelmed by Aiden’s coldly lowered gaze and could not say a word. The court physician then hurried out of the room with quick little steps.
Aiden picked up the thick stack of letter paper sitting on the desk. No matter how hard it was, he had never missed writing a letter to Noah every day. Aiden, who let out a soft laugh as he looked at the hundreds of sheets of letter paper, shoved them into the trash can without a trace of regret. But it was then.
“Your Highness the Crown Prince.”
“……”
“His Majesty the Emperor has come looking for you.”
The Emperor, whose condition had recently improved a little, had come to the room to congratulate Aiden on manifesting as an alpha. Aiden opened the door and gave the Emperor a light bow, saying,
“Come in.”
“Congratulations on manifesting as an alpha.”
“Thank you.”
The Emperor closed his mouth for a moment and thought of the real reason he had come to see Aiden. He had, for the first time in a long while, come to his senses and attended the nobles’ meeting. At that meeting, the nobles had been engaged in heated debate over the large and small wars that kept breaking out in the border regions.
The gist was this. Until now, Grand Duke Humore had had to go to war in place of the sickly Emperor and command the army. But now the argument had been raised that the Crown Prince should take over Grand Duke Humore’s role. Moreover, the Crown Prince had even manifested as an extremely dominant alpha. For that reason, the argument that he was still young and weak was not accepted.
The Emperor argued that it was premature for Aiden, who was still only fifteen, to take part in war, but Grand Duke Humore stepped forward saying he would teach Aiden himself.
And with that, he even knelt on one knee before the Emperor, swearing loyalty. The Emperor no longer had any grounds to refuse. And so he had no choice but to accept the nobles’ stubborn argument.
“Yes, then rest.”
The Emperor could not bring himself to say that fact, and only patted Aiden’s shoulder.
