In the Name of God - Chapter 1.2
But could he truly aim for the head or the heart?
Could he really kill that man?
He could not even finish the thought.
A curse that he did not have the strength to voice scraped up his throat. Even breathing felt like a burden.
Foolish bastard.
Even after being torn apart until he was in this pitiful state, the only place his trembling barrel managed to aim at was the shoulder holding that crimson sword.
“I told you over and over.”
The tip of the red sword swayed with the same curve as the man’s faint smile as he approached. Thick drops of blood fell from the blade’s edge.
“You are too kind. That is the problem.”
A red streak sliced through the air for a brief moment. At the same time, blood burst from Do-yoon’s arm, the arm holding the gun.
“Urgh!”
He grit his teeth against the stabbing pain. The handgun slipped from his fingers and rolled across the dust-covered ground.
He squeezed his eyes shut from the pain, then forced them open again.
What entered his sight was a crimson blade aimed directly at his chest.
“I am sorry. I will end it quickly.”
The voice was cold and devoid of any emotion.
As if he were speaking to a stranger he was meeting for the first time, the man hid every trace of feeling and moved with quiet ease. The heavy sword in his hand burst with red light and surged toward him.
The sharp blade tore through skin and muscle, shattered his sternum, and pierced his heart. Every sound of the impact reverberated through his senses, then blurred together like an alarm filling his mind.
Something seemed to well up from the heart that had been run through. A lump of blood rose up his throat in place of a scream.
“Kh… cough….”
By the time he spat out several clots and splashes of blood, he no longer felt the pain in his chest. His entire body felt numb, as if the last of his senses were being severed one by one.
“Sleep well.”
Darkness crept into his vision as if he were truly drifting to sleep.
His hearing dulled along with his fading sight, and into that muted space came the man’s whisper.
“I love you.”
It was a short confession filled with tenderness.
That bastard.
A damn dog of a man who never missed a chance to mess with people until the very end.
He cursed him silently and swallowed a breath.
All sound and sensation broke off rapidly, and the cold he despised rushed in like a tide.
He was not afraid of dying. He simply had something he had to accomplish, and with the last of his strength, he parted his lips.
“Lee… Sunho….”
It felt like ages since he had last spoken his name.
He gathered everything left in him and forced a smile onto his lips.
“I love you too… you crazy man….”
With those final words, his consciousness snapped.
<Remaining Lifespan: 0 days>
