#4.

The day after having an embarrassing experience with Lee Sunho.

The high fever that had been tormenting me was completely gone as if it had never happened.

The moment I opened my eyes, the first thing I felt was lightness in my body. The heaviness and dull, stifling feeling in my physical body, which even Lee Sunho’s pain control ability could not completely erase, had drained away like an ebbing tide along with last night’s heat.

As if to take its place, I felt a slight stiffness in my lower body. Thanks to Lee Sunho’s ability, I did not feel pain, but it was clear that my lower body was not moving as well as I wanted it to.

‘How many times did we do it yesterday…’

I could not remember well. I thought Lee Sunho ejaculated twice, but as for when I came…

‘…Let us not think about it. As long as it does not hurt, that is fine.’

When I pushed yesterday’s events into a corner of my mind, the Adaptation skill erased the embarrassment that was building inside me on its own.

Right, we made a contract that I would do things like yesterday if Lee Sunho wanted.

Faithful performance of the contract, give and take.

There was nothing wrong with it, and there was no need to keep worrying about something that was merely fulfilling a simple contract.

After organizing my thoughts, I sat up on the bed. Thanks to Lee Sunho diligently wiping me down and changing my clothes while I was sleeping, my body felt as fresh as if I had taken a shower.

‘Now I just need my hands to heal.’

Scanning my clean body, I looked down at both of my hands wrapped in bandages.

My hands, with broken fingers and bones, still had a stinging sensation even though Lee Sunho’s ability was currently being exerted to the maximum. They were so horribly shattered that it made me wonder if recovery was even possible.

Normally, it would take nearly half a year for the bones to fuse and recover function, but my situation was a bit different.

Because I was an Awakener who could manipulate mana.

“Echo.”

When I called out softly, a system window popped up before my eyes. A blue-eyed puppy popped out with a pop sound and stuck right onto my face.

—Master! Dummy!

“Yeah, okay. I get it, so can you step away from the dummy for a second? I cannot see.”

Pretending to snicker, Echo pulled away from my face and this time settled on top of my head. A slight sense of weight that only I could feel rubbed against the crown of my head.

—Why did you call me after such a long time?! You are mean!

“There were a few things going on. More importantly, I have a favor to ask.”

—What is it?

I felt a faint breeze swooshing from the back of my head. I wonder if he got into a good mood just from hearing that I had a task for him, after getting angry and calling me a dummy just a moment ago.

“Download the guides on Forced Structural Binding of Bone Tissue Using Mana and Cellular Amplification Induction from the system.”

—Master… How do you even know that such materials exist in the system?

Well, of course I knew.

Because those two materials were the methods I once used to save my apostle who was dying from full-body fractures.

Thinking up to that point, I suddenly felt a sense of incongruity.

‘When did that child… suffer full-body fractures?’

I did not know.

It was clear that there was a moment when my apostle was dying once more in a miserable state, and that I used those materials to treat him.

However, only that fact remained as if frozen in time, while the situation back then and the cause-and-effect relationship were blurred as if covered in fog.

It made sense since my memories related to the apostle were still fragmented, but…

‘So I am only now remembering the fact itself that the child experienced such a thing.’

The forgotten memories returned naturally through the cracks of daily life, to the point where I could not even classify what I had recalled one by one. If I was not conscious of it, it was enough to mistake it for a moment I had remembered from the beginning.

The more I synchronized with the shadow fragments, the more my memories returned; it was a process of filling in the blank space of my apostle by recovering the past I did not even realize I had forgotten, one by one.

—Download complete! …Master?

As I was fumbling through my mind here and there to see if there were any newly recovered memories, I snapped back to my senses at the feeling of Echo tapping my head with his front paw.

“Huh? Ah, right. Transfer them to me.”

—Yes!

Answering energetically, Echo transferred the two materials into my mind.

It was a method that could only be utilized in this world, where mana was abundant, unlike the place where I originally came from.
