As expected, the monster spun around with a deadly glare and swung its club backward. The swordsman, who had charged in carelessly, was startled by the attack and tumbled to the ground. He narrowly avoided being crushed by rolling to the side while letting out a terrified squeak.

What is this, some kind of comedy sketch?

I couldn’t help but let out a sigh.

‘They are a complete mess.’

They had all acted so strong when only weak mobs appeared, but now they were trembling and had no idea what to do. I had no idea what confidence led them to recruit only four people.

At that moment, my eyes met the mage who had been stamping her feet in frustration.

“Hey, do something, trash!”

Excuse me?

“Weren’t you the one who said I was in the way and should just follow from behind carrying the loot?”

As proof, both my hands were filled with items so heavy my arms were shaking. They were all theirs.

I didn’t need to carry them, but I wanted to test their strength. Since I was ranked 9, my share of the loot would be small, and I didn’t want to waste bullets unnecessarily.

“You little—planning to just sit back and enjoy the honey?! You have no conscience!”

“You only get honey if you are given it.”

“What do you mean by that?!”

“By the number of mobs I’ve dealt with on the way, I probably did more than all of you.”

“D-don’t lie, you trash!”

He was stuttering because he knew it was true but pretended not to.

I sighed with a blank expression.

Not because of the mage, but staying still would only waste time. With my short lifespan, I could not afford to waste a single second.

I roughly set the three party members’ loot on the ground and shook out my arms.

‘Even if this team joined in a rush because of my lifespan, considering the loot distribution… I should use bullets sparingly.’

I drew my revolver from my waist, keeping my distance to avoid involving the mage, and aimed at the monster.

The moment I focused my sight, my vision became crystal clear. Even the monster’s rough skin about 10 meters away was clearly visible.

One bullet was enough to draw its aggro toward me.

Bang!

The monster’s one eyeball exploded from the shot.

Kraah!

The monster covered the bleeding eye with its hand and glared at me.

‘It doesn’t die instantly, as expected.’

Its skeleton looked thick, and its skull was solid. I had hoped to pierce both the eye and brain in one shot, but it was not to be.

Still, I succeeded in drawing its aggro.

The furious monster ignored the other party members and charged at me.

“D-d-dodge, watch out!”

The swordsman, paralyzed with fear by the monster’s attack, looked panicked. Just moments ago he had been arrogant, but now his legs were trembling, unable to stand.

I ran toward the charging monster, aiming at the club it swung.

Bang! Bang!

The first shot sank deep into the club, and the second hit the same spot. The club shattered into pieces in front of me. If it hadn’t, my head would have been smashed first, leaving the three party members staring in horror as if I were insane.

I slid skillfully between the monster’s legs, getting behind it.

I drew a sharp dagger from the belt on my thigh. Simple in design, but it was the best value for durability and hardness.

‘Use bullets sparingly.’

Each bullet cost more than expected. If I fired recklessly, I would spend more on bullets than the tiny reward I would receive.

I slashed the tendons behind the monster’s ankle and knee with the dagger. Its massive body staggered.

As its legs buckled and it lost balance, I leapt onto its huge back.

Balancing on the shaking shoulders, I pulled the dagger back and—

Thrust.

I drove the dagger forcefully into the weak spot just below the monster’s trapezius, where the arm and back muscles intersect. The sensation of cutting through tough skin and flesh was vivid in my fingertips.

Because of the tough skin and muscles, the dagger only sank about a third of the way in.
