In the Name of God - Chapter 12.2
I quickly pulled out the dagger and drove a bullet into the gap.
Judging by the fact that the other arm seemed sealed and unusable, neutralizing just this one would make it much easier to subdue the monster.
Bang!
Aaargh!
The monster let out a beast-like scream and staggered wildly. One of its arms, struck, dripped yellow blood and fell uselessly.
Humanoid monsters are easy in this way. It is simple to figure out exactly where to stab to weaken them, or where to shoot to disable limbs, because their structure is so similar to humans.
I leapt nimbly off the monster’s back as it writhed in pain and dove into its struggling body.
Click.
I angled the revolver into the roaring monster’s open mouth.
Bang!
As the gun fired inside its mouth, the monster’s roar abruptly stopped.
I withdrew the gun and stepped back, and the monster’s massive body collapsed forward with a thud. Its skull bore the marks of a close-range piercing that had shattered it.
I shook the revolver, covered in the monster’s yellow fluids, and looked around. The three party members stared alternately at the fallen monster and at me, dumbfounded.
“Now, let’s recover the core and leave.”
I said casually and holstered the revolver.
The monster had been so heavy that I gestured to the three party members to help roll it over, and for some reason they obeyed.
While the three hesitated, I drew the dagger and climbed atop the monster’s body.
The core was usually located right in the center of the monster’s chest.
‘Last time I had to extract it by hand, what a hassle.’
I gripped the dagger with both hands and lifted it high.
This dagger wasn’t actually meant for close combat.
Thwack, thwack, thwack-thwack-thwack-thwack—
The sound of piercing the tough skin and muscles echoed ferociously.
The three party members, who had dismissed me as trash until now, went pale watching me mercilessly cut into the monster’s chest.
Meanwhile, Echo rolled peacefully inside my hood.

“This won’t do.”
-What won’t?
I scanned the quest list on my phone, clicking one by one on those marked with stars.
[☆Lifespan Extension 7 Days☆ Incheon F-44252 Dungeon Clear (F)]
[Applicants: 13/15]
[☆Lifespan Extension 7 Days☆ Busan F-372271 Dungeon Clear (F)]
[Applicants: 5/10]
“…Too many people are recruiting.”
Echo popped its head out of my hood and rested it on my shoulder, making a little sound of understanding.
-Well, Master does like to fight alone, after all.
Since possessing Seong Do‑yoon’s body, I had completed a total of four dungeon quests. All were F-rank, and apparently dungeon clears weren’t that difficult, so a party of at least three could manage.
Because recruitment numbers were low, I could have gone out on a quest within a day or two if I signed up.
However, F-rank dungeon quests required at least eight members per party. For reference, the quest where Seong Do‑yoon had died was also F-rank.
If even one awakened person above rank 7 was in the party, the minimum number could be ignored, but someone of that rank would never bother with a trivial F-rank quest that offered minimal rewards.
Thus, to enter an F-rank dungeon, a full party of at least eight rank 8 or 9 members was required.
‘Recruitment will take a few days, and once we enter, we’ll be bogged down and stuck there for a long time.’
In that sense, F-rank quests were preferable, but there was another problem.
F-rank dungeon rewards only extended lifespan by three days.
After the dungeon, my cursed body would collapse from exhaustion, making the three-day lifespan gain insignificant.
‘I need more lifespan to investigate or do anything else.’
If this continued, one day would be spent earning money and lifespan, another day suffering, and another day running from quest to quest—a never-ending cycle.
In that case, aiming for F-rank was better than F-rank.
‘I hate crowded parties.’
I didn’t like it, but it couldn’t be helped.
Sighing, I continued scrolling through the quest list. I planned to apply for the ones with the minimum of eight members.
As I scrolled down a few times, my eyes suddenly lit up.
