‘What? There are quests where they accept applications in 2-person parties?’
It seemed that although the minimum required number was eight, participants would enter as four separate parties of two. The reason for forming a party from the start was probably not to have all eight members clear the dungeon together, but because the dungeon’s structure required splitting the party.
This was supported by the quest details:

[Each fork contains different monsters and bosses, and the quest will not count as complete unless all are defeated.]
It was a dungeon layout not seen in F-rank dungeons.

Well, that worked out in my favor.
‘So it means only one person at a time can slow things down? And since it’s an even distribution regardless of rank, there’s no loss either.’
I quickly started drafting a party recruitment post, my eyes gleaming.

[Rewards will be divided fairly in half.]
Not long after posting, a few comments appeared:

[Lol, the type of people who crash parties and run, haha]
[Dividing fairly??? Then claiming contributions and taking it all yourself, right? lol]
Following the skeptical comments, others posted about me. On the awakened user board, basic information about the poster is provided to ensure trustworthiness.

[Lol, a rank 9 kid as party leader? lol]
[One month experience as rank 9? Clean your feet and go nap]
[Anywhere he goes, he can only be a pack mule, and he’s fine just following along lol I’m dying laughing]
[Excuse me, seriously, is this post supposed to be a joke?]

No point letting frustration over being trash get the better of me.
I had anticipated some backlash, but not to this extent. Even though I had Seong Do‑yoon’s memories, I did not empathize with him or share his emotions, so I did not take offense at each comment. I am not an especially emotional person anyway.
But I did realize that Seong Do‑yoon must have had it rough.
Rank 9 awakened ones are looked down on in many ways. Seong Do‑yoon must have had it tough.
Echo seemed to share the same thought.
It is extremely rare for a rank 9 to appear immediately after awakening. Even with poor ability, rank 8 is the norm.
Most awakened rank 9s live like ordinary people. Their talent is minimal, skills mediocre, and there is no reason to risk dangerous dungeons for money. Even as a party member, rank 9s are treated and compensated so poorly that pretending not to be awakened is far more comfortable.
‘In that sense, Seong Do‑yoon is braver than he looks.’
Even after being called trash, he had entered dungeons three times in a month immediately after awakening.
Judging by the current comments, it seemed difficult to recruit a party myself.
It might be better to wait for someone else’s recruitment post and apply. Whether such a post would appear and whether they would accept me into a 2-person party was uncertain.
Watching the number of comments grow with each refresh, I eventually deleted the post. I thought no one would seriously apply after seeing all the mocking comments.
Soon after deleting the post, a notification appeared on my phone. Someone had sent me a message on the awakened user site.
‘How bored must you be to send a message too.’
I clicked it, and my eyes widened in surprise.
[You said you were recruiting a party, right?]
[I heard you were going crazy like there’s no tomorrow despite being rank 9, so I applied to watch from the side ^^]
The message, contrary to my expectations, was a genuine party application.
