In the Name of God - Chapter 24.1
Lee Sunho carefully set me down and broke into a deep smile. His eyes, however, were ominous. There was no way this guy was smiling because he was happy.
“Do you know you’ve lost more weight?”
“How could you tell? It shouldn’t be that noticeable.”
“That day, I carried you like a princess all the way to my place…”
I shot my hand out like lightning and covered Lee Sunho’s mouth. Sensing another Awakener nearby glancing our way, I lowered my voice.
“Don’t say anything past that. It’s embarrassing.”
It’s not like I enjoy losing weight.
Since this body was synchronized with me, its motor skills and senses were not much different from my original body, so there was no major issue in combat. Thanks to the Adaptation skill, even the finer details of the body blended in smoothly, as if it had always been mine.
Still, because it was a frail body with very little lifespan left, I inevitably lost weight every time I went into a dungeon. Even though I no longer collapsed sick afterward like before.
‘Like I want to lose weight.’
At this rate, I would be thin enough to make chopsticks look bulky, and that frustrated me too.
Lee Sunho lowered my hand from his mouth and narrowed his eyes.
“You still aren’t eating properly these days, are you?”
“Don’t worry. I eat three meals a day.”
“What do you eat?”
For some reason, I had a bad feeling that I should not honestly answer that it was energy bars.
As I subtly avoided his gaze, the examiners filed in all at once. The noisy venue quickly fell silent.
One of the examiners standing on the platform gave a brief greeting and began explaining the exam.
There was not much to it. There would be an individual test and a team test.
While the examiner was explaining today’s testing format, Lee Sunho whispered near my ear, so close it tickled.
“Let’s eat dinner together after this. I want to see for myself whether I really don’t need to worry.”
I felt oddly called out and could not bring myself to refuse. At that moment, I heard Echo chuckle softly.
-I really like Mr. Lee Sunho.
Whose side are you even on?

“Yaaawn.”
A man lounging lazily in the spectator seats opened his mouth wide and yawned. The exam had not even started yet, but his eyes already looked like he might fall asleep.
“When did they say this ends again…?”
Park Jung-geon, a first-team Awakener from the clan Black Tail, was genuinely considering whether he should just go home.
“How is it?”
“How is it supposed to be?”
At the voice beside him, Park Jung-geon ran a hand through his short bangs and smacked his lips.
“It’s dry. Totally dry. No one stands out.”
The platinum-blonde woman in a suit sitting next to him poked her brow with the back of her pen. Her muttering of “That won’t do…” was perfectly audible.
Park Jung-geon snorted as he looked at her.
“At a crappy lower exam site like this, picking up random nobodies just wastes the signing bonus. Wouldn’t it be better to tour the mid-to-upper exam sites?”
“At mid-to-upper exam sites, finding someone without a clan is harder than plucking a star from the sky. You know that.”
“How would I care?”
“You should care, you bastard. You’re here as a scout…!”
Annoyed by Park Jung-geon’s half-hearted complaining, Estelle Laurent let out an awkward smile at the sharp looks around them. Her voice dropped noticeably.
“And the clan leader said so, remember. That this lower promotion exam site might be worth looking forward to.”
“Hm…”
“The exam is just starting, so keep your eyes peeled until it’s over. If we go back empty-handed after the clan leader said that much, we’re both getting a private meeting. Can you handle being alone with the clan leader for ten hours?”
“…No.”
Park Jung-geon’s gaze grew just a little, very slightly, serious.
The clan leader he knew was not someone who would send first-team members out scouting based on nothing more than a hunch. There had to be some reliable information or solid reasoning behind it.
Even so, as Park Jung-geon looked down at the Awakeners preparing for the exam, his expression remained indifferent.
That indifference did not last long.
Because of someone who appeared not on the exam floor, but in the spectator seats.
“What, what is that?”
The noise filling the venue instantly shifted in tone.
“Why is Horizon…?”
“Wait, isn’t that Seong Do-wan?”
