In the Name of God - Chapter 44.2
‘They seem like good people.’
But still.
“Hey, hey! Put that down, put it down! I’ll carry it!”
“Goodness, you’ll throw your back out like that! Give it here!”
“Help him carry this up together! What if he collapses while walking?!”
“Oh my, look how pale he is. Do you want a piggyback ride? Should I just carry you?”
Isn’t this a bit too much?
Even though it’s my luggage, they keep refusing to let me hold anything.
When I tried to pick up a single small box, they all snatched it away in a panic. When I tried to grab a bag, they tried to pick me up entirely and carry me along with it.
In the end, I was forced to stand there blankly, held back by Lee Sunho. This was the result of me firmly stopping this guy from trying to hoist me onto his back because he thought my legs would get tired.
‘I already haven’t done anything because Lee Sunho loaded all the luggage by himself this morning.’
Earlier today.
Lee Sunho had been so stubborn about helping with the move that I had no choice but to call him to my house.
Surprisingly, Lee Sunho didn’t even look shocked when he saw the ruin I lived in. He immediately pushed me aside and loaded all the luggage into the moving truck alone. He wouldn’t let me carry a single tiny box, a light bag, or even a single shoe. Just like these dormitory seniors.
Being treated like that twice in a row made my pride hurt a little.
‘I’m a perfectly functional man too.’
Even as I thought that, I could understand their excessive behavior.
Even now, while I’m in relatively good condition, I probably look like a fragile chopstick that could collapse at any moment to an outsider.
“Newbie, the only thing you’re allowed to carry is your room’s card key.”
…Seriously, you guys need to know when to stop.
While I kept my mouth shut with a sour expression, my luggage was moved into the dormitory room in the blink of an eye.
Although we called it a dormitory for convenience, it was actually a 1,000 square foot, three bedroom officetel. Considering the land prices in Gangnam, providing an entire officetel building as a dormitory for free was proof of the clan’s enormous wealth.
After Park Junggeon and the dormitory seniors moved all the luggage, the only thing left was for Lee Sunho and me to handle our living arrangements.
We agreed to each take one of the three rooms, use the remaining room as storage for now, and eventually bring in some exercise equipment.
Lee Sunho kept lingering around even after all my luggage was brought in. He seemed desperate to help somehow, but I felt I should at least do this myself, so I locked the door and began organizing my things.
And one hour later.
I had to lie on the bed and receive a massage from Lee Sunho.
‘I’d rather be clearing a dungeon.’
I didn’t realize the difference between combat and manual labor was this great.
Honestly, other parts of me were fine, but both my arms were aching from being overworked while organizing. Earlier, one of the seniors carrying the boxes said, “You look like the type to break an arm just lifting a box.” Thinking about it now, he might not have been entirely wrong.
‘Still, I feel better thanks to this guy.’
I looked up at Lee Sunho, who was diligently massaging my arm while sitting on the edge of the bed. The massage was good, but he really lived up to his role as my human painkiller. My arm muscles had been trembling painfully just a moment ago, but now I was comfortable enough to feel drowsy.
I looked up at Lee Sunho quietly and then glanced toward his room. Since our rooms were positioned on opposite sides of the hallway, I could see into his room through the open door. Even at a glance, it was very clean.
“Why do you have so little luggage?”
“They said I only needed to bring myself.”
True to Park Junggeon’s boast, this was a fully furnished officetel where you really only needed to bring yourself.
Every room was equipped with a bed and basic furniture, as well as almost everything needed for daily life. Thanks to that, I had thrown away everything that was old or unnecessary before moving in.
But even with my reduced luggage, it felt strange to see Lee Sunho move in with nothing more than a few sets of clothes.
‘As expected of a diamond spoon.’
I suppose he can just swipe his card whenever he needs something.
Feeling a bit envious for no reason, I thrust my other arm out.
Lee Sunho smiled deeply and began to massage my other arm with enthusiasm.
Ah, that feels refreshing.
That night.
A drinking party broke out in our room.
