In the Name of God - Chapter 52.1
This isn’t just a bad mood; it’s practically a murderous aura.
It definitely isn’t the normal level of grimness.
As I froze, my eyes darting around nervously, the corners of Lee Sunho’s eyes twitched.
“I told you to sit.”
This was the first time Lee Sunho had acted like this toward me, and honestly, I felt a flicker of genuine fear.
I had no choice but to try and sit on the floor, but before my rear could even touch the ground, Lee Sunho abruptly pulled me toward him.
“Don’t sit on the dirty floor. Here.”
Because of that, I ended up sitting on Lee Sunho’s lap.
Having sat me on his own thighs, Lee Sunho supported my back with one arm while stroking my sprained ankle with the other.
The effect of the “human painkiller” was remarkable.
I could feel the stinging pain that had flared up with every minor movement slowly beginning to dull. Perhaps he wasn’t focusing only on the ankle, as I could feel warmth radiating from the arm wrapped around my lower back.
However, the atmosphere was incredibly chilly. It felt beyond awkward to have the usually kind and gentle Lee Sunho glaring at my ankle with such a cold expression.
“…Hey, are you mad?”
“Yes.”
He answered instantly, as if he’d been waiting for me to ask.
“What is there to be mad about?”
Lee Sunho turned his head and looked me in the eye. His gaze was so intense and piercing that it seemed he really was furious.
‘They say the quiet ones are the scariest when they get angry, and they aren’t kidding.’
Just from his look alone, I felt like I understood what it meant to have one’s breath taken away.
Lee Sunho glared at me with sharp, piercing eyes.
“I have nothing to be mad about?”
This guy… the look in his eyes isn’t normal.
As soon as that thought crossed my mind, a massive surge of agonizing pain rushed into my ankle.
“…Ugh! Hey, wait…!”
Lee Sunho was gripping my injured ankle tightly with one hand. It was too much to bear, and I curled my body inward. It hurt so much that not only my leg but even my hands began to tremble.
“It hurts, you… crazy… bastard…!”
I choked out the words, trying my best to suppress a groan. Wondering why on earth he was doing this, I even pounded on his chest with my fists. Somehow, it felt like my hands were the only things getting hurt.
“Should I just go ahead and break it for you?”
“Ugh, what…?”
What did I just hear?
Even through the pain, I shifted my gaze in disbelief, meeting his dark pupils that looked like they had truly snapped.
“From what I can see, it seems you only show it when the pain becomes unbearable.”
“Even so, talking about… breaking… a perfectly fine ankle…?”
“Don’t worry. It’ll set quickly if we just apply a splint properly.”
“You lunatic… seriously…!”
For some reason, I felt like he might actually do it. He looks dead serious right now.
I couldn’t even speak properly; I just groaned and moaned in pain.
Finally, only after I began to let out pained whimpers did Lee Sunho release his grip. My ankle had definitely worsened because of him.
“Your ankle will be fine. The Pain Control ability can also be used to increase pain.”
“Ugh, so you… just now… huff, pant…”
I glared at Lee Sunho with resentful eyes.
He had only pretended to crush my ankle with physical force; in reality, he had simply amplified the sensation of pain. Therefore, the actual condition of the ankle remained unchanged.
Feeling like I had just seen the dark side of the “painkiller,” a chill ran down my spine.
Because of the pain that felt like my ankle was being ground into powder, moisture had already gathered around my eyes. Lee Sunho calmly wiped it away.
“Since you aren’t the type to stop hurting just because I ask you not to, I’m just asking you to listen to my request. Look for me when you’re in pain.”
“You crazy bastard… making a request… through this kind of intimidation…?”
“You have to experience severe pain to realize how desperate you are for a painkiller.”
This terrifying jerk.
Is it even normal to have the mindset of intentionally causing someone pain just to make them seek you out?
I let out a hollow laugh in disbelief, then, feeling suddenly exhausted, I let my head drop. As I leaned my head against his shoulder and squeezed my eyes shut, my dizzy head felt a little better.
– Light Sunho-ssi… you’re so scary…
‘My thoughts exactly. …I should take the “Light” out of “Light Sunho.”‘
Light, my foot.
He’s Doom Sunho.
Lee Sunho’s hand caressed my injured ankle. Unlike before, the pain was rapidly subsiding.
“…Lee Sunho.”
He looked at me while still stroking my ankle.
“When will that… heal?”
I asked, wiggling my ankle slightly. Lee Sunho brushed his fingertips over my now-numb ankle as if tickling it.
“I won’t know for sure until we get a proper checkup at a hospital, but it looks like a sprain, so shouldn’t it take about one or two weeks?”
