In the Name of God - Chapter 59.2
<Tip. Sufficient interaction with an Awakened will reduce the duration by 50%.>
Are you giving me this kind of thing as a “tip” right now?
It seemed certain that the system was out of its mind.
I stood there dazed and dumbfounded, but I could feel a strange heat beginning to boil up from deep within my body. A sense of crisis brushed past me, warning that I should not just stay still like this.
Forgetting that my entire body was still tingling, I used all my strength to push Lee Sunho away. Perhaps because of the sudden attack, or perhaps because he realized my reaction was strange, Lee Sunho released the arms that had been encircling me and allowed himself to be pushed back obediently.
“What is wrong?”
Lee Sunho supported me as I struggled to sit up. In that instant, the places where his hands touched felt as hot as if I had been burned. It was not painful or agonizing, but a strange sensation, as if heat were blooming at the points of contact.
I turned my head away sharply, unable to even look at Lee Sunho’s face properly.
“I am sorry, but… I want to rest alone for a bit, so please leave.”
I feigned composure to the best of my ability. My voice trembled slightly, but it was not very noticeable.
Lee Sunho did not get off the bed; instead, he leaned his head toward my face. It seemed he was trying to meet my eyes.
“Did I do something wrong?”
“No, it is not like that.”
“Then why are you suddenly telling me to leave? Look at me, Do‑yoon.”
I took a secret deep breath and turned my head toward Lee Sunho. Just meeting his gaze made the strange sensations seethe even more, which was flustering. Nevertheless, with desperate mental strength, I put intense focus into my eyes.
“Really! …I really just want to rest alone.”
“Is that true?”
“Yes.”
I smiled through the effort, calming my trembling fingertips by gripping them tightly with my other hand.
“Lee Sunho, I am tired.”
Lee Sunho stared at me in silence for a moment before soon showing a small smile.
“…Alright. I will stay outside, so tell me if anything happens.”
“Okay. Good work today.”
While speaking calmly, I was inwardly wishing for Lee Sunho to leave quickly. The speed at which the heat was rising within my body was no joke. Already, my heart was pounding violently and my entire body felt as hot as if I had caught a cold.
Lee Sunho kept looking back at me even as he was leaving the room. Each time, I hid the heat enveloping my body and the strange, itch-like sensation, pretending as if nothing were wrong, even waving my hand.
Finally, the door closed.
“Ugh, hah…!”
I barely held back a gasp and let it out; the heat felt so intense I wondered if this was actually my own breath. My limbs were shaking, and various parts of my body felt itchy.
‘24 hours… All day long…?’
Could I really get through this without being caught?
‘It is not a matter of “could I”… I must not be caught.’
A roommate suddenly going into heat?
I could not show such a sight to the innocent and kind painkiller, Lee Sunho.
…To be honest, I did not know if he was truly innocent, but at least that was the Lee Sunho in my head.
‘Let’s lock the door first.’
I staggered toward the door.
I did not think Lee Sunho would just leave me be for 24 hours. Since he was a guy with many worries and a tendency to meddle, I had to at least answer him through the door and pretend to be okay whenever he came to check on me.
That meant, of course, that I also had to endure this bizarre penalty for 24 hours while remaining conscious.
‘If I grit my teeth and hold on, it will work out somehow. Somehow…’
In the meantime, heat gathered around my eyes and I felt my head throbbing in time with my heartbeat. My body was as hot as a fireball and becoming increasingly itchy, so I did not know what to do or how to endure.
Even so, the goal of locking the door remained clear, and my slow steps moved steadily toward it. At this moment, I was so desperate that I forgot the injury to my ankle; I did not even realize I was limping.
Finally, my fingertips touched the doorknob.
Just as I was about to press the lock.
Click.
The door opened without a knock.
“I suspected as much, and I was right.”
I felt a chilly gaze.
For some reason, I had a premonition that I should not meet his eyes right now.
“You know, I sometimes think about this.”
Lee Sunho’s low, sunken voice whispered gloomily.
“Our Do‑yoon truly has… a real talent for turning a person’s stomach inside out.”
I knew it even without seeing his face.
This bastard’s eyes have flipped again.
“I told you to tell me if anything happens, didn’t I?”
