In the Name of God - Chapter 60.1
Lee Sunho’s hand moved toward me. My body was so hot that I knew he would immediately realize something was wrong if he touched me, so I quickly took a step back.
However, Lee Sunho followed suit and took another step forward. His hand firmly gripped my arm.
“Where and how does it hurt this ti—”
“Ah!”
A high-pitched sound escaped my lips of its own accord. It was neither a scream nor a groan, but a strange, ambiguous sound.
Startled by my voice, Lee Sunho let go instantly. I stood there with my mouth covered, eyes cast down in embarrassment.
“…?”
A momentary silence filled the room.
Perhaps because of that silence, the sound of my ragged breathing seemed to grow louder. The heat enveloping my body surged further, and in that short time, my entire skin had flushed a deep red.
“Do-yoon?”
I heard Lee Sunho’s bewildered voice.
‘Damn it, this is so embarrassing…’
I bit my lip hard. I felt that if more time passed like this, I wouldn’t be able to hold onto my sanity.
Struggling to steady my voice, I stammered.
“I am… really okay… I am fine…. Haa… please, just leave….”
“Anyone can see that you are not in a normal state. You have to tell me where and how it hurts so I can help you.”
“It does not hurt, so just… ignore it and leave….”
Even to my own ears, my trembling voice sounded anything but normal.
But I couldn’t exactly say, ‘I’m in heat, help me,’ could I?
I myself had no idea what kind of help I even needed or how anyone could provide it.
Lee Sunho watched me as I stood hunched over and panting, and then he closed the door. My body flinched involuntarily at the small, insignificant sound of the door clicking shut.
Lee Sunho did not ask any more questions.
Instead, he approached me silently and, without asking for permission, swept me up into his arms.
“Ugh! Lee Sunho…!”
Every point of contact with Lee Sunho sent a jolt through me like an electric current. My shoulders shrugged reflexively, and I felt a rush of pressure pooling somewhere below.
Lee Sunho, looking down at me as I twitched while covering my mouth, headed straight for the bed. Just the slight swaying of my body in his arms made me feel as if I were melting away; I felt like I was going to die.
‘I would rather have a penalty that was horribly painful like before.’
My mind grew hazy from this bizarre sensation I was experiencing for the first time in my life. I had no clue how to endure it.
I felt Lee Sunho lowering me onto the bed. I thought he was angry, but his touch as he set me down was still exceptionally gentle.
“Ugh…!”
Just the sensation of my body touching the sheets made my breathing quicken and my throat feel ticklish. Even the clothes I was wearing seemed to harass my heightened senses.
As expected, penalties are indeed related to pain.
Even if my whole body didn’t hurt in the traditional sense, being this frustrated and distressed to the point of not knowing what to do—wasn’t this also a form of agony?
‘Damned system. Why are you doing this to me?’
I couldn’t help but curse the system that had implemented such a freakish penalty.
Then, Lee Sunho, who had been quietly looking down at me, spoke.
“…I heard that among those exposed to hallucinations, there are cases where their senses become extremely sensitive.”
I flinched unconsciously.
‘There are cases like that?’
It was the first time I had heard such a thing, but I didn’t contradict Lee Sunho’s words. It was partly because my body was too hot for words to come out properly.
“I will help you.”
Lee Sunho’s body slowly leaned over mine. Straining to lift my eyelids, which were heavy with heat, I saw Lee Sunho’s serious face.
“Let me help you, Do-yoon.”
Lee Sunho was carefully seeking permission. Even though I was the one who should have been pleading.
The words wouldn’t come easily. If it had been simple physical pain, I would have clung to him, calling him a painkiller, but this sensation was entirely different from any pain I had felt before. I likely couldn’t expect the usual painkiller effect.
Knowing that, I still wanted to lean on him.
Looking into those eyes of his, which were more serious than mine, I couldn’t just ignore him and pretend I was okay. Furthermore, my mind and my flushed body could no longer hold out quietly.
I felt like I would do anything if I could just escape this agonizing sensation.
I reached out a trembling hand and gripped Lee Sunho’s sleeve tightly.
“You… do you… even know… what kind of state I’m in right now…?”
…Not yet.
The thread of my reason hadn’t snapped completely yet.
It seems I like Lee Sunho much more than I thought.
That must be why I am stubbornly clutching onto my sanity to avoid things becoming awkward with him.
“The way you… can help… is to leave… this room right now….”
My speech grew slower. With every breath, my consciousness felt like it was flickering out due to the excessive heat.
In a corner of my mind, I was already clinging to Lee Sunho.
