I thought that if it were Lee Sunho, he definitely would have made a fortune even if he had just taken a job at a massage parlor.

Admiring Lee Sunho’s delicate care, I spoke up languidly.

“You’re working hard too.”

“At what?”

Even while asking back, Lee Sunho’s hands did not stop.

“You’re always suffering because you met the wrong partner. Making you use your abilities without rest, and making you wait on me hand and foot because I’m so sickly.”

Honestly, I don’t think it’s my fault that Seong Do-yoon has such a weak body, but I felt I was responsible for taking the talented and skillful Lee Sunho as a partner. Even if that was what Lee Sunho wanted.

“I like it, though.”

Lee Sunho spoke suggestively while rubbing my chest with the wet towel.

“It’s like we’re family.”

“…Does someone who feels like family keep tickling me right there?”

“You caught me?”

No wonder he was pressing and rubbing only my nipples while pretending to wipe my chest. Because of that, I felt a tingling and tickling sensation around my chest, as if heat were concentrated there. Both nipples had become hard in the meantime. How embarrassing.

Since I couldn’t move my hands, I couldn’t push him away or hit him, so I just let him do as he pleased. Since he’s a guy who secretly enjoys mischief, I should let him have his way at a time like this.

Suddenly, the word “family” bothered me.

‘Come to think of it, I’ve never heard him talk about his family.’

As a human, everyone has at least parents. Whether they are abandoned or forgotten. Furthermore, isn’t Lee Sunho born with a diamond spoon? To have the wealth to live alone in an apartment over 3,500 square feet in the middle of Gangnam in his 20s. I could only guess that his parents’ abilities were great rather than him being self-made.

Unable to overcome my curiosity, I threw out a question.

“It’s strange to ask this only now, but… what is your family relationship like?”

As soon as I asked, Lee Sunho’s hand stopped abruptly. The gaze looking down at me blankly was quite piercing.

“Why are you staring like that?”

“Because it’s the first time I’ve seen a 20-something ask it that way.”

Oops.

Who among 20-somethings would ask a friend, “What is your family relationship like?” It would be a generation where it’s more common to ask after someone’s parents while getting frustrated playing games.

Since I was startled and kept my mouth shut, Lee Sunho answered with a chuckle.

“As for my parents, they probably died when I was about ten. No siblings, no relatives.”

A moment of silence passed.

Then Lee Sunho has lived alone since he was about ten? Really?

I didn’t know what to say. Lee Sunho’s answer was very calm, but the content itself was so heavy that I could only think I had stepped on a landmine.

‘Wait, but his tone…’

Don’t people usually say “My parents passed away” or “They died”? It was a completely emotionless tone, as if saying that the existence of third parties called “parents” was said to have died when he was young.

“Did you hate your parents?”

“Not particularly.”

Shrugging his shoulders, Lee Sunho picked up the thin towel again and carefully wiped my body.

“It’s just been so long, and at some point, it stopped having any meaning.”

A meaningful smile appeared on Lee Sunho’s lips. His eyes were looking at me, but for some reason, it felt like he was staring at something beyond.

“That’s why I like taking care of you like this. When you’re sick like now, I like it because you’re like a younger brother, and when we’re in battle, I like it because you’re like a reliable older brother.”

For some reason, my chest felt warm.

“Like it, my foot. …That’s embarrassing.”

I was no different from Lee Sunho. I was someone who had forgotten the existence of family a very long time ago and had to stand on numerous battlefields alone, whether I wanted to or not.

I was lonely. Until I met my Apostle… I was truly lonely.

But now, I was feeling a sense of reliability every day, to the point where I couldn’t even think of the concept of being lonely. It was like that when I looked down at my Apostle, and it has been like that since I met Lee Sunho. If I had a family, would it have felt like this?

“Thank you.”

Forgetting even the embarrassment, I spoke with sincerity.

“And I’m sorry.”

I lowered my eyes for a moment, then looked up at Lee Sunho with determination.

“About us moving as a team, let’s think about it again.”
