Although these monsters were only B-rank, their numbers were enormous. Hundreds of mole monsters crawled out rapidly, making the ground look like it was rippling. Jae-gyeong aimed his arm gun at the swarm.

Boom!

A cluster of mole monsters exploded on impact. Immediately, a rich, sweet chocolate scent filled the air.

“This is why dessert dungeons are so great,”

Ri-na hummed from behind.

Jae-gyeong completely agreed. Compared to monsters that bled or screamed in pain, dessert dungeons felt much more comfortable. It was as if he was crushing desserts rather than killing living creatures. Of course, it was just a “feeling,” but it helped him mentally.

Firing his arm gun at the remaining, perfectly coordinated moles, Jae-gyeong tightened his lips. No matter how alien the monsters or how much they sought to kill or conquer humans, they were still living beings. Taking life carried a mental cost, and Jae-gyeong was still struggling with that aspect.

Once all the mole monsters were destroyed or scattered, the ground trembled violently. A massive monster emerged from within, like the mole monsters amplified tenfold.

King Chocolate Mole (A)

Its claws were extremely sharp, but its surface was smooth like a chocolate egg, giving it a strangely appetizing appearance. Jae-gyeong spread his wings and soared upward. He aimed at the King Chocolate Mole’s foot and fired his arm gun.

Bang, bang!

The monster’s large, sharp claws were powerful. The bullets bounced off on impact, leaving only scratches. It even seemed to enrage the mole king.

[Choc!!!]

The King Mole let out a high-pitched, irritated screech and began thrashing its legs wildly. It felt as though ten drills were flying through the air at him.

Whoosh, crack!

The monster’s attack was immediately blocked. Jae-gyeong had activated his [Shield of God] skill. A large, shield-shaped barrier formed, protecting the entire team. The drill-like claws of the mole king could not penetrate it.

However, the mole king was an A-rank monster, and [Shield of God] was only a B-rank skill. It would inevitably break soon. Jae-gyeong aimed his arm gun again, this time targeting the mole king’s protruding red nose.

[Chocooo!!]

The king’s pointed red nose flew off, and from the spot where it had been, dark molten chocolate oozed down. The air quickly filled with the cloyingly sweet and unpleasant scent.

“Well done, Jae-gyeong!”

Hee-ro shouted from below and shot a long, water-like whip from his hands. The whip quickly crossed around, binding the mole king’s front and back legs together.

[Choc! Chocooo!!!]

Restricted in its movements, the mole king twisted and screamed. Ri-na shot an arrow directly at its heart. The arrow flew gracefully through the air, unaffected by the monster’s thrashing, and embedded perfectly into its chest.

[Screech!!]

With a final scream, the King Chocolate Mole fell backward. There must have been a magic stone near its heart because it died instantly.

Ye-jin and Jin Jeong-eon had not moved. Jae-gyeong had barely used any magic, and Hee-ro and Ri-na only attacked once each. Yet they had defeated an A-rank monster in less than five minutes.

‘This is the best guild in South Korea…!’

Jae-gyeong shivered. Unlike the mock training, this confirmed that they were truly strong hunters.

“Jae-gyeong, come down~”

Hee-ro beckoned as if calling someone back from a stroll. Jae-gyeong folded his wings and descended to the ground.

“You weren’t hurt, right?”

“No…”

There was no chance to get hurt. Hee-ro and Ri-na had reacted so quickly that nothing reached him.

“Okay, good. Our team usually operates like this at the start. We use minimal strength and mana, trying to take it easy. That way, we can fight the boss more safely later,”

Hee-ro explained.

It was a deliberate allocation of health and resources. Jae-gyeong nodded but was impressed internally. Every team managed health and mana carefully, but in practice, things rarely went exactly as planned. No matter how much strategy and planning there was, the battlefield was far more dangerous and unpredictable.

“We almost never use Jin Jeong-eon and Da-sol until the very end. That’s our guaranteed strategy.”
