It was truly an absurd idea.

Yet this team… When they made a strategy, it worked. Each member was strong enough to handle any emergency calmly and efficiently.

‘I really made the right choice switching guilds…’

Jae-gyeong looked at Hee-ro with newfound respect. Their eyes met, and Hee-ro raised an eyebrow with an expression that said, ‘Yes?’ Jae-gyeong quickly shook his head and started walking ahead. In that moment, his respect and trust for Hee-ro, both the guild master and team leader, sprouted like young shoots.

***

As Hee-ro had said, the deeper they went into the dungeon, the more monsters appeared, and the average difficulty increased. At first, only two or three, including Jae-gyeong, were fighting. By the latter part, everyone had joined the battle. It was an S-rank dungeon, so it was no easy task.

Still, no one had been seriously injured yet, so Da-sol could only use his area-of-effect skill, [Sprinkle]. Conserving the healer’s mana until the end was crucial for maintaining the team’s advantage.

In fact, Jae-gyeong had been keeping his third skill active because Da-sol needed to be saved as the last card. [Spear of Protection] allowed him to secretly feel the pain whenever other teammates were attacked.

‘It hurts…’

Jae-gyeong sniffled. The other team members were too busy fighting monsters to notice that he was taking on some of their pain.

‘Well, it’s not like I’m trying to get anyone to notice…’

It was simply an efficient skill operation for the team’s victory and to safely clear the dungeon.

Jae-gyeong flew far ahead, firing his arm gun at the rushing monsters.

Skill: [Angel’s Judgment]

Warning: Remaining mana below 20%.

A helpful notification popped up, warning that his mana was nearly depleted. At the same time, the boss monster appeared in the distance.

Strawberry Whipped Cream Cake (S)

It had an incredibly fresh and sweet name. Its form resembled a whipped cream cake topped with strawberries, though its ten appendages made it rather grotesque.

“Huh… I want to eat that strawberry cake… I’ll buy one as soon as this is over!”

Ri-na shouted, launching five arrows at the boss simultaneously.

Pababababak!

All five arrows struck the strawberries on top of the cake with pinpoint accuracy. It seemed as though she thought those strawberries might be the eyes or even exposed weak points.

However, the boss merely wiggled its arms and slid closer, unaffected. The arrows just made it look like a cake with candles stuck into the strawberries.

“This is… incredible. Even after dozens or hundreds of dungeon runs, it’s still confusing,”

Hee-ro said, laughing, and shot a water bomb at the boss.

Splash! The strong water bomb tore through the edge of the cake.

Has it worked?

The team tensed, watching the boss. Its arms writhed, but the soft whipped cream cake quickly returned to its original shape. The bread portion had disappeared, but it seemed the whipped cream would refill the gaps.

“What even is that…?”

Ye-jin muttered in disbelief. Jae-gyeong silently agreed. It was absurd enough that a single cake counted as the boss, but it was even more ridiculous that damaging it was so difficult. Well, the softer and fluffier a monster, the higher the difficulty usually was.

“Alright, let’s all attack as best we can,”

Hee-ro said. Jin Jeong-eon stepped forward.

“I’ll try using my command skill first. I suspect this monster might have ears… we need to confirm if it can be eaten,”

Jin Jeong-eon said. The other team members, except Hee-ro, froze. He was their hidden ace and a near-cheat key. If his command skill didn’t work, this battle would be even longer and tougher.

Taking a deep breath, Jin Jeong-eon approached the boss and shouted loudly.

“Strawberry Whipped Cream Cake, retract your arms and legs into your body.”

The moment he used his command skill, the air seemed to shift. Jae-gyeong instinctively shrugged his shoulders and squeezed his eyes shut, even though he knew the skill wouldn’t affect him. Command skills were among the most feared abilities for hunters.

Then something even more frightening happened. The boss’s arms did not move.
