“Hunter Jeong Jae-gyeong must create a new weapon.”

Da-sol’s words fell into silence across the meeting room. Hyeon Hee-ro looked at Da-sol and Jae-gyeong with eyes full of admiration. He clearly thought the two had grown closer.

“What kind of weapon?”

Jae-gyeong asked cautiously. Da-sol shrugged his shoulders and replied.

“I don’t know about that part. But you have to make it, for sure.”

Then Da-sol closed his mouth again.

Jae-gyeong fell into thought. Definitely, a tank needed as many weapons as possible. More specifically, flashy and large weapons were better. If the weapon could perform area attacks, that would be ideal.

He thought he understood why Da-sol told him to make a weapon. During the recent raid, Jae-gyeong’s performance had clearly fallen short. Moreover, because of the awkwardness with Da-sol, he had not received timely healing and had absorbed the pain of other team members. From a healer Da-sol’s perspective, it made sense that he might feel the tank was unreliable.

The deeper Jae-gyeong thought, the gloomier he felt. At JK Guild, he had been something of an ace. Here in the Training Guild, he felt like a weak link.

As if sensing Jae-gyeong’s thoughts, Jin Jeong-eon spoke.

“Seo Da-sol Hunter’s words seem to mean that he hopes Hunter Jeong Jae-gyeong creates a weapon to protect himself. Right, Seo Da-sol Hunter?”

“…Yes.”

Da-sol replied reluctantly. Jae-gyeong’s eyes widened. Was that it? He meant for me to make a weapon to protect myself?

Jin Jeong-eon continued.

“It takes time to adapt, but this raid was conducted urgently and it was S-rank, so it must have been very difficult for newcomer Hunter Jeong Jae-gyeong. Yet you performed very well. If it weren’t for you, we would not have completed the raid so quickly and safely. We take this opportunity to express our gratitude.”

All the other team members applauded. Even Da-sol gave a very slow clap. If everyone else clapped five times, he would clap only once.

“Ah, it’s nothing… If I was of help, I am rather… honored…”

Jae-gyeong could not hide his embarrassment and twisted his body while bowing. He had been self-reproaching, but the praise and applause made him feel strange. He was relieved to realize that Da-sol’s instruction to make a weapon did not mean “You are the weakest!” After all, being hated was unpleasant.

“That’s right. This time, the contribution of our newcomer tank, Jae-gyeong, was huge. Everyone has until next week to consider the weapon, so take your time… I will just say one more thing before ending today’s meeting.”

Hyeon Hee-ro concluded the applause and looked at Da-sol.

“If Jin creates a new weapon, trains with it, and is deployed in the field, it will no longer be easy to guard the healer. He will be at the front. In other words, Da-sol, you will truly need a new bodyguard hunter now.”

Everyone glanced at Da-sol. His expression was visibly sour. So far, he had four bodyguard hunters. Three of them confessed to him or attempted sexual assault, only to be dealt with violently. The remaining one was Jin Jeong-eon, South Korea’s number one ranked hunter. In reality, all previous bodyguard hunters had been defeated by Da-sol.

“Actually, we have continued recruiting bodyguard hunters, but since Da-sol’s reputation is so high, not many resumes came in. Ahaha.”

Hyeon Hee-ro said, amused. Da-sol glared at him fiercely, but Hyeon Hee-ro paid no mind.

“Still, we narrowed it down to two final candidates. Da-sol, you can interview them yourself tomorrow. Our opinion is not so important.”

Hyeon Hee-ro added that the vice guild master, Gyeong-jin, would send the two resumes to Team 1’s residence. That concluded the meeting.

Da-sol suddenly decided to exercise and headed to the gym. Hyeon Hee-ro and Jin Jeong-eon went to the guild master’s office on the 18th floor. Ye-jin went home to see her cats. Ri-na said she would stop by the cafeteria for breakfast.

“Do you want to eat together?”

Ri-na asked, but Jae-gyeong smiled awkwardly and shook his head.

“Sorry. I have something to do, so I need to go home today.”

He had to go pick up the T-shirt that had been left sitting in front of his apartment for several days.

“If it feels uncomfortable to eat alone, I can sit with you until you finish.”

Jae-gyeong added, but Ri-na laughed heartily and waved her hand.

“Who do you think I am, someone who can’t eat alone? I like eating alone.”

That was a relief. Jae-gyeong exhaled with a sense of ease, thinking it would be too awkward to just sit with someone while they ate, and headed home.
