That Face Is the Problem - Chapter 29.1
However, aside from the shared living arrangement, Jae-gyeong had one more serious matter to consider. That was making weapons. The next morning, he woke up early and sat on the living room sofa, lost in thought as if meditating.
‘Even if I get closer to Da-sol, I’ll probably keep using the Guardian Spear to reduce the burden on the healer.’
Jae-gyeong knew himself well. Whether his relationship with Da-sol was good or bad, he tended to overwork himself. He had done so in his previous guild as well, and that was why he had been able to get along with healers in JK Guild. The healer had always been grateful because Jae-gyeong reduced her burden and saved her magic.
But in this team, acting that way could actually cause concern and even hurt the healer’s pride, something he was learning for the first time.
Originally, he had planned to make a weapon for area attacks, but he might need to make armor or defensive gear instead. As Jae-gyeong sat on the sofa, deep in thought, Da-sol’s door opened.
Da-sol paused when he saw Jae-gyeong sitting in the living room, but he simply nodded to greet him and went to the kitchen to get some water. Jae-gyeong adjusted his posture and mentally prepared a greeting for when Da-sol passed by.
But instead of returning to his room, Da-sol walked straight into the living room where Jae-gyeong was sitting.
“Good morning…!”
Jae-gyeong stammered awkwardly while greeting him. Da-sol said nothing and sat on the floor a little distance away, leaning his back against the sofa.
“Um… do you have something to say…?”
Jae-gyeong asked cautiously, curious why Da-sol had come over. Da-sol hesitated for a moment, then asked.
“What’s for breakfast today?”
“Uh… I was just planning to eat something simple… Do you want anything in particular?”
“…It’s fine.”
Suddenly, Da-sol put his hands on the floor and stood up. Jae-gyeong quickly grabbed his sleeve.
“Please… tell me what you want! I can make one or two dishes quickly….”
It wasn’t difficult if he didn’t expect the eight-dish spread like yesterday. Jae-gyeong looked up at Da-sol pleadingly, conveying that meaning with his eyes. Seeing this, Da-sol clenched his teeth.
“…Bok….”
“Yes…?”
“Stir-fried spicy pork… just one portion….”
“Oh, the stir-fried pork? I had a lot left from yesterday’s batch, and I was planning to put it on the breakfast table anyway… Do you want more?”
“No. That’s fine.”
For the first time, Jae-gyeong found Da-sol cute and approachable.
“You like stir-fried pork?”
“…Yes.”
Da-sol answered reluctantly and lightly pulled his sleeve back. Jae-gyeong quickly let go.
“What is Hunter Jeong Jae-gyeong doing here so early in the morning?”
Da-sol asked bluntly, feeling awkward after mentioning the stir-fried pork. Jae-gyeong scratched the back of his head and replied.
“Ah… I was thinking about a new weapon… I’m considering making some armor….”
The moment he said that, Da-sol sat down next to him. It was the first time he had sat on the sofa instead of the floor. Surprised, Jae-gyeong watched as Da-sol swept back his slightly fluffy hair.
“I was just about to talk to you about that.”
Even though he had just woken up, Da-sol looked very attractive. His slightly swollen face made him look even cuter than usual. His soft, baby-like white skin and plump, slightly puffy lips would make anyone’s heart race if seen this close. Jae-gyeong felt the same.
“Uh… yes…”
Jae-gyeong nodded calmly, pretending to act nonchalant. Da-sol continued, unaware of Jae-gyeong’s inner thoughts.
“I think it would be good if Hunter Jeong Jae-gyeong had a shield that could be equipped like a gauntlet. What do you think?”
“Uh… a shield?”
Jae-gyeong, lost in thought, snapped back to reality and asked again.
“I already have a shield skill…”
“That’s a protective barrier for the whole team. I mean a physical shield, one you can strap to your arm, light but strong against external attacks, enough to protect only yourself. If you make the tip pointed, you can use it to attack too.”
“Ah…”
Hearing Da-sol, Jae-gyeong immediately understood what he wanted. That way, he could take fewer hits while adding another weapon. A lightweight shield would reduce the burden as well.
As Jae-gyeong considered it, Da-sol continued.
“I will pick someone for bodyguard duties, but honestly, I don’t trust them. Who knows when they’ll screw up?”
“Ah… yes…”
Jae-gyeong slightly hunched his shoulders at Da-sol’s curse. Da-sol noticed and clicked his tongue, continuing.
“That’s why I’m thinking about it too. If we have one more skill for either attack or defense, it will reduce reliance on the bodyguard.”
