Da-sol seemed to have thought about this issue for a very long time. Perhaps he felt the limits of being a healer.

Jae-gyeong secretly admired him. The reason Da-sol respected Jin Jeong-eon was because Jeong-eon constantly tried to improve reality, and Jae-gyeong saw the same quality in Da-sol. Perhaps this was the kind of trait that made someone an outstanding hunter.

“I will… think about it with you!”

Jae-gyeong said, inspired. Da-sol briefly made a ‘really?’ expression, but then nodded.

“Then let’s each think about it and talk after dinner tonight.”

“Ah… yes!”

That ended the morning conversation. Jae-gyeong went straight to the refrigerator and took out the stir-fried spicy pork he had marinated and stored yesterday. He only needed to fry it, and the breakfast table would be ready. Jae-gyeong could feel Da-sol’s eyes following the container of pork intently as he came into the kitchen.

‘He really does like stir-fried pork….’

Suppressing a smile, Jae-gyeong grabbed a frying pan, poured some oil, and turned on the induction stove.

That morning, Da-sol ate two bowls of rice again.

***

From the perspective of the other team members, the relationship between Da-sol and Jae-gyeong did not seem much different. Da-sol consistently ignored Jae-gyeong, and Jae-gyeong continued to be cautious around him.

That day, Da-sol and Jae-gyeong once again ran into Sang-min and Gam-ja at the gym. It seemed the two had strengthened their friendship since the previous fight. They had probably been drinking together and gossiping about Team One members. Since they were hunters terrible at paperwork, they had struggled writing incident reports just like Da-sol and Jae-gyeong had.

Da-sol wore headphones while exercising and never greeted anyone, so his behavior was the same as usual. Jae-gyeong, however, paused slightly when seeing Sang-min and Gam-ja. He was debating whether to greet them or not. People like Sang-min and Gam-ja were remarkably sensitive to such internal conflicts.

“Hello, Hunter Jae-gyeong?”

Sang-min greeted first, casually, as if nothing had happened.

Jae-gyeong lowered his head slightly. He did not speak, despite lingering resentment. Sang-min seemed to notice and immediately mocked him.

“Wow, you ignored my greeting just because of a little disagreement last time? That’s disappointing. I treated you well at first. Well, I guess our friend Gam-ja didn’t recognize the person who hit him. He is ranked 13th in the national hunter rankings, right?”

As expected, he started with sarcasm. He was a consistent person in that way. From afar, Sang-min kept smiling and showed friendly body language. Perhaps that was why no one paid them any attention. Da-sol seemed completely unaware that Sang-min and Gam-ja were even at the gym.

Jae-gyeong exhaled through his nose, keeping his mouth shut. Sang-min laughed loudly.

“Hey, what’s going on? Are you angry, Hunter Jae-gyeong? I just greeted you. Did I do something wrong, Gam-ja?”

“No, sir. Not at all.”

The two of them seemed to have settled into a brotherly rapport. Jae-gyeong lowered his gaze at them for a moment before finally speaking.

“Hunter Oh Sang-min, Hunter Park Gam-ja….”

“Yes, Hunter Jeong Jae-gyeong.”

Sang-min grinned and replied politely.

“Hunter Park Gam-ja is lying. I have never hit anyone.”

Jae-gyeong’s voice was calm, rational, and cold, but there was a terrifying edge to it.

“I don’t know what you heard from that friend, but it was probably fabricated.”

In truth, Jae-gyeong had actually fought some hunters who had bullied Da-in, but technically, he had not really hit anyone intentionally.

Here was what had happened. Jae-gyeong would first call someone over and calmly warn them verbally, then deliver a shoulder bump as a physical warning. Most hunters would fall backward from Jae-gyeong’s physical strength, and some would break bones without his knowledge. Jae-gyeong, thinking it was fine, would help them up while saying, ‘Are you okay? Don’t ever do that again.’ Because of the force he used to pull them up, some broke the bones in their hands.

In short, Jae-gyeong had never consciously hit anyone. His strength was simply too much. Hunters who fell or got injured never reported it truthfully. They often lied, saying they had an accident or were attacked by an A-rank monster, and they gradually avoided Jae-gyeong and Da-in afterward.

Thanks to that, Jae-gyeong had believed that he had subdued people with just a warning. He did not realize how strong he really was.

His eyes shone quietly and coldly.

“I guess I need to issue a warning to both of you as well.”
