The staff measured the thumb sizes of Da-sol and Jae-gyeong and adjusted the rings inside. While that was happening, another slice of cake was brought out.

“Would you like more coffee?”

A male staff member asked Da-sol with a flirtatious smile. Anyone could see the hint of personal interest. Da-sol seemed to notice both that he was a man and what kind of person he was, yet Jae-gyeong felt more concerned than jealous.

As expected, Da-sol covered his cup with his hand and said in his flat tone,

“No.”

“I will remain here, so let me know if you need anything. And, Healer Seo Da-sol, I… I am a fan of healers.”

The staff winked as he smiled. He was slimmer than most female employees, intentionally used a nasal tone when speaking, and smiled excessively with his eyes. He looked openly gay, and Jae-gyeong felt he could probably guess his preferences. Jae-gyeong lowered his head and started devouring his cake.

‘All gay men immediately know that Da-sol is not someone who will… submit to them…’

Typically, men who approach Da-sol wanted to dominate him. Da-sol was small, pretty, and cute, and as a healer, people expected docility and shyness from him. This staff member, however, immediately understood Da-sol’s personality and acted in a deferential, playful manner from the start. It was perhaps a smart judgment.

Still, Da-sol disliked anyone with romantic feelings for him, whether male or female. Whether someone wanted to push him or be pushed by him made no difference. He simply disliked anyone who had romantic feelings for him.

“Could you take a photo with us, if that is okay?”

The staff asked cautiously, still dripping with charm. His youthful and pretty appearance suited his soft, playful tone.

“No, that is not okay.”

“Huh?”

“I said it is not okay.”

Da-sol lifted his eyes and stared at the staff member.

“I feel uncomfortable right now. Could you leave? I just want to be here with my teammate.”

“Ah… yes, I am sorry for making you uncomfortable!”

The staff member swallowed a forlorn cough, bowed, and left. The room was now just Da-sol and Jae-gyeong. Da-sol rolled his eyes.

“This is annoying.”

He did not seem to be expecting a response, but Jae-gyeong answered earnestly.

“I think he expressed it rather politely, though…”

“That is true.”

“Of course, as a department store employee, he should not act like that toward VIP customers. That was wrong from the start.”

Da-sol looked at him, surprised. His pink-tinged eyes returned to their normal color.

“I did not expect you to say that.”

“Why…? It is true.”

“Still… somehow, I did not think you could say that, Jae-gyeong.”

Since the topic had come up, Jae-gyeong spoke his long-held thoughts.

“I… am not stupid, you know…”

“…Huh?”

“When I properly warned Oh Sang-min healer and Park Gam-ja healer, you did not believe me, Da-sol. I do speak when necessary…”

“Oh Sang-min? Park Gam-ja? Who are they? A person’s name is Potato?”

“They were members of Team 2 that fought at the gym. The tamer and the mage…”

“Ah, that guy with the rough face and the potato-looking guy. Their name really is Potato.”

Da-sol laughed loudly. Jae-gyeong’s eyes widened. Da-sol had just laughed heartily! He rubbed his eyes. Even through his blurred vision, Da-sol was still laughing beautifully.

“This is fucking funny.”

Da-sol finished his surprise laughter and drank the remaining coffee. Jae-gyeong simply stared at his side profile, blinking.

“So, you have been upset since then?”

Da-sol set down his coffee and looked at Jae-gyeong. Jae-gyeong, with a dazed expression, stammered,

“Uh… ye-yes…”

“I am sorry for ignoring you. It is just that your image in my mind… was like that.”

Da-sol kept smirking. Seeing him laugh innocently, without malice, made Jae-gyeong feel truly strange. It was as if he had become very close to Da-sol, yet also felt like he was with someone else entirely.

“You also… have many unexpected sides, don’t you?”

“Ah, really?”

“Yes… you express thanks or apologies naturally, you dislike socializing but still speak well, and you quietly consider others…”
