Jae-gyeong fell into thought as he walked home. Actually, there was no real need to intentionally pretend to be weak…

He rolled up his left sleeve and examined a small, round burn spreading above his elbow. It wasn’t clearly visible because his skin was tangled with the scorched fabric of his combat suit, but it did hurt a little. It was a wound he had received during the mock training earlier.

Perhaps Lee Hyeon had miscalculated his final direction control while attacking, as he had shot flames toward the ground, and stones heated by the flames had splattered quite a bit. If it hadn’t been for the S-rank combat suit, he would have likely suffered a much larger burn or broken bones, but thanks to the combat suit, only the fabric and a bit of skin were damaged.

Thanks to Jae-gyeong quickly turning his body to block it with his shield, he was able to avoid a bigger injury, but because of his swift movement, no one had actually noticed that he was hurt.

‘Mr. Da-sol is glaring at me like he wants to kill me, so I can’t exactly ask him to heal me…’

Jae-gyeong contemplated whether he should go to Da-sol’s house carrying this injury. If he did, he would definitely be able to pull off the “pretending to be weak” advice that Jeong-eon had given him.

‘Has he not come back yet…?’

Because earlier, only Lee Hyeon and Da-sol were left behind.

Entering the apartment elevator gloomily, he considered pressing the 12th floor but pressed the 8th floor instead. He thought it would be better to take off his combat suit at home first, remove the fabric, and then receive the heal.

Perhaps he was subconsciously delaying his meeting with Da-sol. It was because the Da-sol who had been angry at him earlier was so terrifying.

Just when he thought they had gotten a bit closer, Da-sol would quickly get angry again or say sharp words. Since he already knew very well how much Da-sol disliked men, he was also confused about what level of hatred (?) Da-sol actually held toward him.

Jae-gyeong trudged out onto the 8th floor.

“What on earth did you talk about for so long? Did you talk trash about me?”

“Ugh, gasp…!!”

Da-sol’s voice suddenly popped out from ahead. Jae-gyeong let out a scream in response, causing the automatic sensor light to flash on. Da-sol was sitting on the stairwell landing, looking at Jae-gyeong.

“What? Did you really talk trash about me? Why are you so startled?”

“You suddenly pop… popped out, so of course I’m startled…!”

Jae-gyeong clutched his trembling chest and protested timidly. Da-sol scoffed at him.

“In broad daylight, when it wasn’t even dark, you were walking while staring at the floor by yourself and got scared. Why are you blaming me for popping out? Strictly speaking, Hunter Jeong Jae-gyeong is the one who popped out of the elevator. I’ve been sitting here the whole time.”

“Why… were you sitting there…?”

Since he had been left behind with Lee Hyeon earlier, Jae-gyeong assumed they would train one more time or go to the gym. However, Da-sol replied with an indifferent face.

“I was waiting to talk to Hunter Jeong Jae-gyeong.”

“With me… why, why…?”

“That… earlier, I think I… flew off the handle a bit. It wasn’t something to get mad about, but my words came out a bit too harsh. I’m sorry.”

He came to apologize? Jae-gyeong stared at Da-sol with a surprised expression. Da-sol’s eyes instantly went rotten like a dead fish’s again.

“What. Why.”

“Ah, no… you could have just apologized via Hun-Tok (Hunter Talk), but to come in person… And I thought you would be with Hunter Yoon Yi-hyeon…”

“Training is over, so why would I be with him?”

‘But training is over, and you’ve come in front of my house right now too, Mr. Da-sol.’ Jae-gyeong swallowed the words he wanted to say. Somehow, he felt better.

Could right now be the timing? The timing to ‘pretend to be weak’ that Jeong-eon had talked about.

“Um…”

“But—”

The two spoke at the same time. As if matching that exact moment, the automatic sensor light in the hallway clicked off. Da-sol let out a light sigh and stood up. The sensor light turned back on.

“Shall we go inside the house and talk?”

“Ah… yes…”

Jae-gyeong hurriedly unlocked the door lock and opened the front door. Da-sol naturally walked into the house ahead of Jae-gyeong. Watching Da-sol’s back, Jae-gyeong gathered his courage and let out a groan.

“Ouch…!”

Da-sol turned back to look at Jae-gyeong. There was no worry whatsoever on his face, only an expression that read, ‘What kind of bullshit is this?’

“What kind of bullshit is that?”

“Ah… uh… that is… the arm I hurt earlier suddenly hurts a bit…”

“You hurt your arm?”

Contrary to expectations, Da-sol did not look surprised or worried. He merely said, “Let me see,” with an ordinary face. It was an attitude like a medical professional mechanically processing an influx of patients.

‘Hunter Jeong Jeong-eon… pretending to be weak isn’t working at all…’

Jae-gyeong whimpered inwardly as he walked into the living room. Da-sol sat on the sofa first, and Jae-gyeong sat right next to him. He slightly turned his left arm to show the sizzling, burnt combat suit.

“It’s a burn… It’s not a major injury because of the combat suit, but the fabric and skin are stuck together, so I haven’t checked the wound yet—”

“What the.”

Da-sol’s eyes turned fierce. He tilted his head to examine Jae-gyeong’s left arm from below.

“If an S-rank combat suit ended up like this, it means you’re fucking hurt.”

“Uh… is that so…?”
