Seeing Hee-ro and Jeong-eon cling to each other, whispering sweet words into each other’s ears and pressing their lips together from time to time was clearly annoying and irritating. Still, it was true that they looked happy, and that made Jae-gyeong a little envious.

‘Ah, my eyes are watering again.’

Jae-gyeong pretended to check the floor number while looking up and swallowing his tears. When would he finally get over the excessive emotional swings that were one of the aftereffects of this unrequited love?

Fortunately, the mock training room was not far, on basement level three. Soon, the door opened.

“Jeong Jae-gyeong, Hunter, this is your first time at the mock training room, right? Follow me.”

Jeong-eon spoke gently, stepping ahead of Jae-gyeong as if to guide Hee-ro. Hee-ro clung to Jeong-eon like a cicada as they walked. Watching their backs, Jae-gyeong felt as if some of his tears were being pulled back inside.

“This is it.”

Jeong-eon opened the door and introduced the room. Jae-gyeong immediately marveled at the mock training room. He could feel that it was no exaggeration that this training guild was the best in Korea.

He saw several training rooms on this floor, and each room was astonishingly large. Inside, there were state-of-the-art simulation devices and S-rank and A-rank items. Of course, even the basic combat uniforms were S-rank, so it was only natural for the equipment to be top-notch.

“Is JK Guild worse than this? Wow, I’m amazed, Jae-gyeong.”

Hee-ro teased, and Jae-gyeong nodded obediently.

“JK Guild is good too, but… it’s not this big or well-equipped. There are only two training rooms, so they get worn out quickly with frequent use. Booking a mock training session is also difficult… this is amazing…”

“Here, each room has its own mock training setup, so you can come whenever you like. Jeong-eon used to practically live here.”

Kim Ye-jin, in her combat uniform, approached holding her wand, explaining. Jae-gyeong politely greeted her. She smiled kindly.

“You got home safely yesterday?”

“Yes…! Thank you, and I’m sorry…”

“No need to apologize. Today we will watch your skills, Jae-gyeong. I’m looking forward to it. I’ll put on my equipment first.”

Ye-jin waved and headed toward the VR equipment. Jae-gyeong followed her with his eyes and noticed Seo Da-sol standing in front of a VR machine. He was also wearing an S-rank black combat uniform.

“Uh…”

For a moment, Jae-gyeong felt as if time had stopped. Dressed in a perfectly fitted all-black combat uniform with black boots and gloves, Da-sol gave off a completely different atmosphere from yesterday.

His previously cute and slightly aloof beauty now looked much more composed, with the gravitas of a hunter about to engage in battle. Thanks to his naturally calm personality, his aura carried weight.

In short, he was sexy.

“Jae-gyeong? Jae-gyeong!”

Hee-ro clapped from behind, snapping Jae-gyeong out of his daze. Otherwise, he might have stared at Da-sol forever.

“Change into your combat uniform. Did you bring a weapon separately?”

“Oh, I summoned my weapons with my skills, so I didn’t bring one…”

“Alright then. The changing room is over there.”

Hee-ro pointed with his chin toward the changing room.

“And you should make sure Da-sol does not notice your eyes.”

“Eh…?”

“I do not want to conduct another tanker interview. It is too troublesome to recruit someone new.”

Hee-ro grinned, winked, and clung to Jeong-eon again as they entered another changing room.

Jae-gyeong closed the door and clutched his chest as soon as he entered the changing room. His heart was pounding violently, and his legs shook, making it hard to stand properly.

The fact that Hee-ro had noticed him was surprising, but what scared him more was that he had truly been staring at Da-sol in a daze.

He could not resist. In fact, he could not even think of resisting.

‘Would Da-in feel like this if she were a hunter…?’

No, that could not be. He was certain. Da-in and Da-sol looked alike, but their atmospheres were different. Da-in would still be cheerful, bold, and urbane even in a combat uniform, but Da-sol… he seemed more like an offensive hunter than a healer, and even that was not the full extent.

Jae-gyeong finished changing in a daze and stepped out of the changing room. Da-sol, standing at a distance, caught his eye again. He had thought the shock would lessen upon seeing him a second time, but instead, it gripped him even more strongly.

‘Ah, now I understand…’

Adjectives fitting Da-sol flooded Jae-gyeong’s mind.

The Guardian of War and Wisdom, Athena.

The feeling Jae-gyeong experienced when looking at Da-sol was nothing less than awe. Finding the exact term for his emotion, he let out a sigh of relief.

‘Thank goodness… I did not fall in love at first sight.’
