Even imagining doing something sexual with another man made Seo Da-sol feel an instinctive wave of disgust. No matter that the other person was Jeong Jae-gyeong, there was absolutely no way he would ever let the other man take him from behind or put his own penis into Jae-gyeong’s body.

If Jae-gyeong desperately wanted it, then maybe, just maybe, he would be willing to use tools or devices to satisfy him. That was the furthest Da-sol had been willing to consider.

But what if Jae-gyeong did not want any sexual contact at all?

Da-sol’s expression darkened more and more. The moment he imagined Jae-gyeong wanting sex, nausea naturally rose in him, but strangely, the idea that Jae-gyeong might not want it at all also made him feel worse.

“So you said you like me. Then doesn’t that mean you could like men too… and that you could do gay sex too…? No, or maybe that is not it…?”

Because he hated men and felt disgust toward gay sex, Da-sol had often been exposed to unwanted advances of that nature, and as a result he had frequently imagined scenes of naked men entangled with each other.

The hallucination in the mirror dungeon, where he saw himself having sex with Jae-gyeong reflected in the mirror, was probably also an attack from a monster that exploited his deep-seated disgust.

But someone like Jae-gyeong, who had only ever liked women and had never even been aware of the possibility that he could be attracted to men, was actually more likely to be ignorant about gay sex.

Right now, he might simply be thinking, “I like Da-sol! A kiss? That is fine, because it is with Da-sol’s pretty lips that resemble Da-in!”

So… was it all a lie when he said he liked Seo Da-sol himself as a person, separate from Da-in?

Da-sol’s eyes, now evolved from dead fish eyes into rotten dead fish eyes, fixed themselves on Jae-gyeong. Jae-gyeong looked flustered as he noticed Da-sol staring at him with suddenly darker eyes, as if not even a shred of soul remained.

“That bastard… Is he just saying he likes me based on my face and forcing it because of momentum?”

Jae-gyeong had not said a single word, but in Da-sol’s mind, he had already become a disgusting pretty-face-obsessed bastard.

“If he later tells me to cross-dress, I will really choke him to death.”

His imagination went even further. He soon decided that he would have to show Jae-gyeong his body and get a clear answer.

“I will show you what it means to be a real man among men, Jeong Jae-gyeong, you bastard. Damn it, acting all cute to seduce people, and now suddenly it is ‘I cannot because you are a man’? Who does he think he is?”

Da-sol’s chest swelled with anger. His killing intent was so intense that the other hunters could feel it prickling against their skin, and everyone turned to look at him.

“Jae-gyeong… did you do something wrong to Da-sol again…?”

Hee-ro whispered through ventriloquism-like speech. Jae-gyeong flinched and quickly shook his head.

“No…!”

“Then why is Da-sol looking like that? That is terrifying. Is Da-sol really A-rank? Jeong-eon, he did not secretly become S-rank, did he? That killing intent is insane.”

Hee-ro clung to Jeong-eon, trembling as if he was scared. Jeong-eon wrapped his arms around him.

“That is not it, but… it does seem like Hunter Seo Da-sol is angry at Hunter Jeong Jae-gyeong.”

Now everyone was looking at Jae-gyeong. Confused, he kept shaking his head.

“Why is Da-sol acting like this…?”

And so Jae-gyeong had to endure Da-sol’s anger without understanding anything at all, completely unaware that all of this had started because Da-sol had been spiraling alone in his own thoughts.

    1. Man to Man

This anger was also related to Da-sol’s nature. Compared to Jae-gyeong, who constantly blamed himself for his poor social skills and stayed withdrawn, Da-sol’s social skills were actually worse. No, worse was an understatement. It was completely shattered to the point that if he had not been a hunter, he would have been kicked out of everywhere he went.

If not for the dead fish eyes he had learned to use to avoid unnecessary fights and the habit of half-heartedly agreeing with “Ah, really?” Da-sol would have already been isolated in the Training Guild long ago. Because of even that minimal effort, people like Su-hyeok, Ye-jin, and the still young and flexible Ri-na had accepted him.

So for someone with almost nonexistent social skills like Da-sol to attempt a romantic relationship for the first time, and with a creature he hated so much, a man, it was only natural that his psychological defense mechanisms would go into overdrive.

He had somehow acknowledged that he liked Jae-gyeong, and he could now also accept that Jae-gyeong liked him in return.

But in reality, stories do not end in a happy ending just because the main characters fall in love and share a kiss. What comes after that is the continuation of the relationship.
