“You aren’t crying anymore, and your expression is good.”

Even though he said it bluntly, Jae-gyeong somehow felt that Da-sol was teasing him. He felt unfairly treated.

“Please don’t tease me….”

“I wasn’t teasing you.”

Da-sol retorted seriously. Jae-gyeong’s lips turned down.

“You were teasing me. You said I keep crying… that I cry too much… and you’ve scolded me a lot about it since a long time ago….”

Da-sol suddenly felt an impulse to bang his head against the floor and crack his forehead open. Why did I do that? Of course, it had been absurd to him that a grown man, a man in his late 20s, would be weeping all the time. It had been hard to believe.

But Da-in had once told him that when she first joined a law firm in her late 20s, she would come home crying every day. She would sit her mom and dad down and wail like a child, telling them to listen to what kind of treatment she had received that day. Da-in had been a social novice at the time.

The problem was that instead of taking her side, their parents had told her, “You must have done something wrong~,” which made Da-in wail for over an hour. Da-sol heard that her mother finally hugged her and her father got on his knees to apologize, which finally stopped her tears.

“…Jeong Mr. Jae-gyeong, you’re right. You said you couldn’t control the tears. That’s a problem unrelated to age or gender. I was in the wrong.”

Da-sol admitted it so coolly that Jae-gyeong was startled. He scanned Da-sol with incredulous eyes.

“Why are you… suddenly acting like this…? Do you want to go eat stir-fried pork right now?”

“It’s not like that! Can’t you just listen to what people say at face value for once, jeez!”

Da-sol ended up losing his temper again, not even a minute later. Jae-gyeong laughed, “Haha.” The frustrated look on Da-sol’s face vanished in an instant. Jae-gyeong’s laughing face was dazzlingly fresh and beautiful.

‘…I should never have had experiences like this, so why were all those countless guys confessing to me?’

If other men saw Jae-gyeong’s face right now, they would have kicked Da-sol aside and lined up to confess to Jae-gyeong. That was how enchanting Jae-gyeong was.

“Jeong Mr. Jae-gyeong.”

“Huhu… ye-yes?”

“If I date you… will I eventually be able to love you more and more, without it feeling like a big deal? Will I be able to express affection nauseatingly like Hyeon Hee-ro and Jeong Jeong-eon, and be able to have sex… and… get married like other people… can we really be like that?”

Jae-gyeong’s eyes went wide at the sudden, earnest question. For Jae-gyeong, who had been laughing like a fool just a moment ago, it suddenly turned into a “serious talk” time.

“Because you’re the only person who doesn’t make my skin crawl when I touch you or kiss you… and you’re the only man I look at and constantly think is cute… so I just wondered if, as we stay together and get closer, those kinds of things might happen. Even if I can’t really imagine it yet.”

Da-sol had an expression on his face as if he were truly trying to paint a specific future. Jae-gyeong’s chest swelled with overwhelming emotion.

In reality, imagining such things was always Jae-gyeong’s job. He often had absurd daydreams: bumping into his first-love fairy girl on the street by chance, Da-in saying she had something to tell him and asking to eat lunch with just the two of them, or Da-sol secretly winking only at him.

People who have had long-term unrequited loves always have vivid imaginations. Because it was his daily routine to imagine such things, feel happy and sad, surprised and shy in his imagination, only to realize reality and feel discouraged again.

But Da-sol had even imagined all the way to a distant future like marriage. Tears streamed down Jae-gyeong’s eyes. He could see Da-sol looking flustered.

“Why are you crying all of a sudden!”

“It’s just… sniff… I’m so happy…. I’ve tried imagining things like that, too….”

Ever since he felt their hearts had connected, Jae-gyeong hadn’t gone a single day without imagining them living together and treating each other with more affection. Imagining them calling each other by their names without a second thought, becoming the best tank and healer partner duo in a dungeon… imagining becoming a representative hunter couple of South Korea, just like Hee-ro and Jeong-eon.

“You’ve even imagined marrying me?”

Da-sol asked, sounding a bit overwhelmed. He hadn’t been lost in a sweet dream like Jae-gyeong; he had just been skeptically weighing the odds of whether something like that was possible if it were with this person. It hadn’t been the level of imagination where he was really looking up honeymoon destinations because he wanted to get married.

However, Jae-gyeong was already steeped in happiness and didn’t notice Da-sol’s tone.

“Yes…. No, not necessarily marriage, just… like when we used to train together before… but wouldn’t it be better than back then…? Mr. Da-sol wouldn’t be angry… we’d wake up together, eat together, wash up together… commute together… share trivial stories… wouldn’t that be nice?”
